Tom was worried slightly. He tried calling Star but... there was no reply. Not even answering before hanging up. Not a groan or sigh of annoyance. No 'ugh Tom! What do you what? Leave me alone!' Nothing. Just black and silence.
He knew where the Diazs' house was. He walked up to the door, to knock when he noticed it slightly open. Strange. Or maybe not. Star was known to be forgetful and could've walked in dramatically, forgetting to close it. Or maybe in a rush. Either way, it probably meant a good thing. He pushed open the door, it let out a small creak before going quiet. Nobody seemed to be home. Tom's red eyes scanned the place as he searched the first floor. Nothing. It made him even more worried. No noise besides... besides that scratching. He quickly made his way up the stairs, catching a glimpse of a large sword and foot that barely made it through a doorway before the door slightly shut closed, but still left an opening. Tom crept over there, trying to remain quiet. He watched as a boy in dark red and black, a bit shorter than himself, made his way into the middle of a bare room. He dragged the sword along the wood floor, leaving a long, nonending scratch. It was Marco. Marco Diaz. Surprisingly. But Tom couldn't see his face since he had his back to him. He watch the brunette plop himself on the floor, the sword clattering next him, causing the demon to flinch from the noise. Marco sat there in silence, legs bent out in front of him as his elbows were propped on his knees, hunched over. After a long while, he slowly reached out a shaky hand towards the sword as Tom realized that his shoulders and whole body shook. When his hand touched the handle, he let out a mix of a gasp and sob, a large shiver racked his body. His other hand quickly darted to cover his mouth, hunching over and shaking his head. After a few seconds he took a big breath of air followed by a long, shaky sigh. Sitting up straight, he dragged the sword over his lap. Tom watched as the boys fingers glided over the cold surface and blade, as if nothing would happen. Then, putting his palm against the blade, he pressed harshly so it drew blood, letting it leak on the floor. Then in a swift movement, he threw the weapon across the room. He threw himself on his back before curling into a shivering ball. Small, quiet cries came out of him. He began to hit his foerbead. "So, so stupid." He muttered to himself. Tom tried to listen to the others whispers but was too far away unfortunately.
Tom pushed the door open, stepping inside the room. The creak of the door and noise of his footsteps caused Marco to quickly sit up and face the doors. A look of surprise and horror as he looked caught. "T-tom!" The brunette choked out, looking up at him before quickly looking down, wiping his tears away.
(Readers, I know I have no life and am lonely if I'm freaking writing a story at 3:12 am on 3/5/17 in the morning while everyone else is alsleep... I'm gonna be lonely in the future I bet... At least my ships'll keep me company. Hopefully.)
"O-oh. Uh. St-," Marco began to talk but let out a cry and buried his face in his hands, crying is guts out. "Star's not here anymore! She- She's gone! Okay?! Now leave, it's bad enough your seeing me like this!" Marco said. Tom just stood there, surprised. "Where-?!" He was about to ask her location when the other interrupted him harshly. "She's back in Mewni! Toffee's back!" Marco shouted. Tom had jumped at the sudden burst of loud noise, even louder than when he dropped the sword. He stood there a bit. Marco looked... everything the opposite of okay, happy, fine, proud, content, cherry.
Marco didn't want to look up, he didn't want to do anything but relieve the pain. He could feel the others gaze on him. 'I bet he's getting the time of his life right now. Watching me break and look miserable.' Marco thought, trying to breath to only let out another sob. Gosh, he felt so stupid doing this in front of Tom but he thought he's been alone, now there was no going back until it was over. He only could hear the other make his way to his left.
Tom sat down carefully before he brought the brunettes head on his shoulder. 'What a cute noise.' Tom thought when he accidentally drew the sound of a squeak of suprise by his action. He almost scolded himself for thinking that as he felt a blush start to cover his face; but then Marco leaned into him, wrapping his arms around his chest to hold Tom close. It was almost as if he were afraid the demon would leave him if he didn't hold on. A few seconds later, the brunettes cries going quiet, his breathing heavy and long, he didn't move as his grip loosened. Tom became curious and turned his head to look at Marco; only to meet with the brunettes peaceful sleeping face that surprised him. Tom jumped, falling onto his back, Marco followed suit. He landed on the demons chest, cuddling into him. Tom just chuckled, wrapping his arms around the other one. 'Yep, absolutely adorable.'
