Tom woke to find a still sleeping brunette by his side, trying to get closer and curl into a even tighter ball as he released small whimpers. He tried to shake Marco awake but it just cause him to start crying. "Why'd you leave Star? We could've worked something out. Not awkward." He said, squeezing the demons hands. Tom was about to let out an annoyed sigh when an idea came to his head. This was his chance to get information out of the brunette. He just hoped Marco was one of those people who talked and communicated in their sleep. "Hey Marco, what happened to Star?" He whispered in the others ear. "She left." Marco whined, pressing up to Tom who watched him. "I know but... why'd she leave?" He asked. "It wasn't my fault I swear. Don't hurt me." Tom winced, was Marco even afraid of him in his dreams? Only one way to know since his plans working out so far. "Who am I, Marco?" Tom questioned, pulling away from the boy who whined and tried to cling onto him, as if it were the only way to survive. Tom sat up and brought Marco into his lap, who once again pressed up to him. Marco mumbled something before he suddenly punched the demons stomach and kicked himself away, causing the air to get knocked out of the demon. "No! Get away from me!" Marco demanded, feeling Tom grab his wrist and pin them to the ground, in attempt to stop his movements. "Who am I Marco? Say it louder. Come on, just listen to my voice. Try and remember." Tom whispered, urging the teen to answer him. "Tof-- no. That's not him... Tom?" The boy squeaked with a small smile that quickly left his face. "I'm sorry! I swear! I didn't mean to make her leave! I didn't even make her!" He muttered, scrunching his face up. "I really didn't! She just... Was already leaving. She told me that..." After this, he went silent. "She told you what?!" Tom hissed, the suspense getting him. Marco only coiled way mumbling.
His eyes snapped open and let out a gasp, suddenly shoving Tom off. He jumped on the demon, straddling his waist as he pushed his shoulders back to the ground.
Tom was oblivious as to what had happened in those few short seconds. Those large, glistening, beautiful brown eyes looking up at him, air knocked out, and being pinned onto the ground, someone sitting on him.
"Tom?!" Marco let out with a gasp and uttered his apology before climbing off. He hugged himself tightly. "What's wrong?" The demon asked, sitting up to put a hand on Marco's shoulder. "Marco. Are you okay?" Tom asked, genuinely concerned. Marco let out empty hollowed laugh, making Tom wince at it. It was just so... so cold, so emotionless. He knew that laugh by heart himself. "Of course I am! I don't know what gave you that idea! Pfft! What makes you think that?!" The Latino boy exclaimed, putting on a nervous grin. Tom sighed as his heart broke and shattered at the sight. It was somewhat like looking into a mirror. Broken smile, broken laugh, pleading eyes that held pain and want of someone to notice, broken heart. Tom just returned his own messed up grin that Marco caught, his fading slowly as he looked away. "Marco, you were crying and you cut yourself," Tom informed, looking at the brunettes arms. "Cut yourself I don't know how many times. You were talking in your sleep too." Tom said. Marco's head snapped up with wide eyes. "What'd I say?!" He asked quickly. "I don't really know. You kept mumbling. I know you could tell I was there though because you would respond back to me and hitting me. You wanted me to get away from you. I asked if you know who I was and you said 'Tof-' before stopping. Then you realized it was me and you were scared, saying you didn't mean to make her go away. You were about to tell me what she told you before leaving." Tom answered. Marco's eyes blew up wide once again, remaining that way before he brought his hands to his face, shaking is head. He stayed quiet before letting out a sniffle and laughed, made of pure sorrow and self pity. "I'm stupid. Biggest person in the world I bet! Hah. Gosh, what's wrong with me?" Marco was talking go himself. "Don't worry. You're not but your close. Second place actually." Tom shrugged, grinning at the brunette who laughed. "Good to know I'm not the only one." Marco said.
