Chapter 1: Sol

It's been about two weeks since what happened and in all that time, I haven't been back to see my team. My mind has been in a mess since that day and I need to sort it out before I do anything else.

James Ironwood. The name of the person that ordered Penny to kill me, I don't think he's an inherently bad guy, I don't exactly like him on account of him earnestly trying to get me killed but after hearing him out I think I can understand. He does whatever it takes to protect the people.

- 2 weeks ago.

[James] "Ozpin, what were you thinking!? Letting something as dangerous as that thing into Beacon!"
[Ozpin] "now, now James. He hasn't done anything to harm the students here, nor has he shown any ill intent in the slightest towards anyone who didn't deserve it."
[James] "haaa~ I really don't understand you sometimes."
[Ozpin] "I wouldn't expect you to."
[Glynda] "now James, have you anything else to discuss about this matter? Or can we move on?"
[James] "I want you to tell me what he is. He looked just like a Grimm but after he was stabbed he reverted. Not only that, when you brought him back to the academy to be treated, there were no internal injuries, when the blade was removed, smoke came out of the wound before it closed itself. Now all that's there is a scar."
[Ozpin] "*sigh* inquisitive aren't you. Very well. That boy, was raised by a Grimm in Mount Luna."
[James] "raised by...?"
[Ozpin] "indeed. We're unsure whether this is the reason for his strange abilities or if something else plays into it, however we do know this. That boy is one of the most promising hunters we have in the first year. His team trusts him and his friends believe in him. He would never intentionally do anything to hurt them."
[James] "intentionally?"
[Ozpin] "I plan to discuss with him about his attitude difference and mental instability when he was in his Grimm form once he has woken up. Till then, he is resting."
[James] "I'd like to be there when you question him."
[Ozpin] "...very well."

[Ruby] "..."
[Yang] "Ruby... come on, it's been two weeks already, they said he'll be fine! Plus, the new semester starts today!"
[Ruby] "I know... it's just... when I saw him it scared me. And now they're saying I'm not allowed to go see him for the time being, it's weird! What happened that night! I want to know!"
[Weiss] "isn't it obvious?"
[Ruby] "Weiss?"
[Weiss] "he probably got caught up in some attack somewhere while looking for Blake and they got the better of him."
[Ruby] "but.."
[Blake] "that doesn't explain why we can't go see him."
[Yang] "Maybe something happened with his semblance..?"
[Rwby] "..."

-1 week earlier

[James] "how is he?"
[Glynda] "he's.... struggling."
[James] "he's losing control?"
[Glynda] "no, not like that. He's struggling... mentally. He hasn't shown any sign of transforming again but he hasn't slept in days, refuses to eat or talk, to open up to us.
[James] "why's that?"
[Ozpin] "you may not quite understand it because you're not his teacher but that boy. His friends are everything to him. After becoming like that he must be thinking how he can no longer show his face to them."
[Glynda] "he also used all that power and still lost the fight and we don't even know who it was he was fighting."
[James] "still... he's just sitting there."

"Just give it up already. You know the reason you lost right? It's because you let those human emotions get in the way!"

Just ignore it, just ignore it, just ignore it.

"You can't ignore me forever~"

[James] "... you know.. I may know of someone who can help us."
[Glynda] "you're telling us this now?"
[James] "my apologies but he's not exactly a student of mine so he's not on the top of my mind at all times."
[Glynda] "okay, so who is this person then?"
[James] "his name is Mirror. He's a member of a team from mistral."
[Ozpin] "oh?"
[James] "I'll get in contact with professor lionheart and see if he can get him to come down here."

- present day

*creak*

"Oh~ someone new came to visit. Looks a little familiar but, it has been 2 weeks since we've seen sunlight soooo-"

[Mirror] "hey hey, it's been a little bit huh!
[Ryu] "..."

"That's a little rude don't you think? Aren't you gonna at least say hi?"

[Mirror] "y'know, I heard about what happened. Sucks getting stabbed huh? Leave you with a nasty scar under those bandages?"
[Ryu] "..."
[Mirror] "*looking towards a black glass panel* so I do this and I can go yeah!?"
"..."
[Mirror] "*sigh* alright then, what do you say we get this over with huh?"

Mirror walked over to Ryu, outstretching his hand and aiming to place it on his bare shoulder however Ryu skitters back away from him into the corner of the room.

[Ryu] "don't...touch..."
[mirror] "huh? Hey, don't worry about it yeah? It's my semblance! I have to touch you to use it yeah?"
[Ryu] "..."
[Mirror] "it'll help you so just stay calm and still yeah?"
[Ryu] "..."

Mirror once again outstretched his hand towards Ryu, this time managing to come in contact with his bare skin.

"Wow~ you let him touch you? You don't know where he's been."
[Mirror] "huh? Did you say something Ryu?"
"Hang on... you can hear me?"
[Mirror] "course I can. Now where are you?"
"Hmmm I see... you're a copycat."
[Mirror] "I preferrr appropriator yeah?"
"So you can use other people's semblance if you touch them? That's pretty unique.. or not.. tell me something. Are your eyes burning? Is your head throbbing? How about your senses? They picking up yet? Can you feel all the negativity around you?"
[Mirror] "what are you-? Aaaah!"

As if a switch had been flicked within mirrors mind, he began to feel the power Ryu had accumulated all at once enter his body in an instant. The powers and strange abilities that Ryu had worked hard his whole life to get used to were now suddenly pushed onto Mirror, causing him to lose control of his senses. Like a sudden awakening in a room filled with the light of a thousand suns he was blinded.

[Mirror] "What- What's happening!?"
"You were a fool to think you could control this power."
[Mirror] "Who are you!?"
"My name's Sol."
