RWBY: The Child of Grimm. Volume 2 (complete)

Chapter 7: Back to Beacon

-Ryu's pov

Ruby and I, after following for a bit somehow lost the person in black though both of us assumed, with the direction they were heading that they were going towards the cross continental tower.

[Ruby] "this would so much easier without these stupid lady heels!"

Hearing her say this and noting that she was indeed running slower than usual, I picked her up in a bridal style carry and took off faster than before.

[Ruby] "R-Ryu?"
[Ryu] "this way you don't have to worry about the heels."

As we ran I could feel Ruby pulling herself in closer to me, bringing back certain feelings I thought I no longer had.

[Ryu] "we're here."
[Ruby] "eh? Huh!?"

As I let Ruby down she ran over to the unconscious guards, checking if they were still alive. If it were yang I can imagine that she'd be violently shaking the unconscious guards by the shoulders but Ruby was generally pretty gentle if not a little panicky before she took out her scroll and pushed a few buttons.

[Ryu] "what are you doing?"
[Ruby] "hm? Oh that's right, you've never called it before have you."
[Ryu] "called wha-"

A locker rocketed out of the skies landing right next to Ruby, slightly embedding itself into the ground.

[Ryu] "ah"
[Ruby] "yep, now lets go!"
[Ryu] "right!"

After Ruby grabbed her scythe out of her locker we ran through the building and past groups of knocked out atlas guards before reaching an elevator that led to the top where both us figured the mysterious person would be. As we got closer to the top I started to feel some familiar negative emotions. Though I couldn't quite put my finger on where I'd felt them before.

The doors opened to reveal the empty room.

[Ruby] "hello?*stumbles due to high heels* is anyone there? Hello?"
[Ryu] "get out from behind there!"

The black clad woman reveals herself from behind a desk of computer screens.

[Ruby] "um, you know, it's not a masquerade party, so why don't you take off that-!"

The woman produces a container of ice dust and uses it to send shards of ice flying towards us. Ruby jumps out of the way while I stood there with my arms in front of my face and my black aura activated to stop any real damage, though it did still hurt.

After the Ice was gone and I removed my arms from in front of my face it was revealed that the woman was holding a pair of glass blades that seemed to have appeared out of thin air.

[Sol] "oooh~ now you try!"
[Ryu] "what?"
[Sol] "Grimm heart is a part of you, just call for it."

I decide to follow Sols instructions for once and focus on the crimson, bone covered blade as the woman rushes towards me. Just as her blades are sent towards me from above I felt something form in my hands. Taking the chance, I swung it upwards, creating the sound of a collision of blades and glass breaking. The woman was sent backwards with the broken hilts of her black glass blades in her hands. I looked at what I was holding to see the crimson blade of Grimm heart while the woman looked at her own broken hilts and scoffed angrily.

As the woman stood up, Ruby launched herself towards her, brandishing her scythe quite expertly as she swung at the masked woman. The woman however, was dodging and weaving through Ruby's attacks like a pro before pushing her away with a blast of fire.

[Ryu] "you..."

I finally recognise her. Even if she's hiding her face and wearing something different, that fire is unmistakable.
