RWBY: The Child of Grimm. Volume 2 (complete)

Chapter 8: Wolf and Mouse

The sound of yells and multiple things breaking filled the beacon dorm halls.

[Yang] "you bastard, get back here and let me hit you!"
[Ryu] "no!"
[Ruby] "Yang!"

The door to our room opened to reveal Jaune and the rest of team JNPR as they had rushed over to our room after no doubt hearing the ruckus. When they opened the door they bore witness to the sight of Weiss sitting at the desk studying, Blake reading her book on her bed, Ruby trying to hold Yang back and me rushing out of the open door.

[Jaune] "huh!?"
[Pyrrha] "where are you going?"
[Ryu] "hunters heaven!"
[Yang] "out of the way!"
[Jaune] "ahhh!"
[Pyrrha] "Jaune!"

Yang knocked Jaune over as she chased after me down the hall and out the building.

[Ryu] "why are you so aggressive!?"
[Yang] "Because you hurt my little sister!"

She has a point.

By this point I'd already made it onto a bullhead with the doors closed and heading down to the city allowing me to take a breather and think about things.

[Sol] "hey~"

Or so I thought.

[Ryu] "what do you want?"
[Sol] "now is that anyway to treat the person that got you and the little red hood back together again?"
[Ryu] "and her angry sister."
[Sol] "I don't know, I think she's kind of attractive."
[Ryu] "what are you?"
[Sol] "what do you mean?"
[Ryu] "you tell me to give in to my negative feelings, you torment me, now you give me advice to get me back together with everyone, help me protect myself without transforming, call yourself a person and find others attractive?"
[Sol] "yeah, I've actually been wondering about that myself-oh hey, we're here."

So we-I am. Getting out of the bullhead, I start walking down the street when I recognise the voice of a child. Following it, I found the little wolf Faunus Cyan. He's standing in front of a small mouse Faunus girl with black hair while a group of human children spew abusive words towards them.

[Child 1] "little mouse can't protect herself so she needs the big bad wolf to protect her!"
[Child 2] "Get out of here orphans!"
[Child 3] "Your parents didn't love you so they gave you up!"

What's with these childish insults?

Oh well, I might as well go help out. I nonchalantly saunter over to the group of children.

[Ryu] "Hey cyan! You and your friend ready to go!?"
[Cyan] "eh? Ah! Big brother Ryu!"
[Children] "eh?! Big brother? Since when did you get a big brother!?"
[Ryu] "you got a problem with that?"

I direct my gaze down towards the brownish colour haired child that seems to be leading the abuse.

[Child] "you a Faunus too?"
[Ryu] "nah, but mind telling me why you don't like them?"
[Child] "my big brother says they're trash!"
[Ryu] "oh? And who's your big brother?"
[Child] "Cardin Winchester! The best hunter in the world!"
[Ryu] "ah, that guy."
[Child] "see! I told you guys he was great! Even this guy knows about him!"
[Ryu] "yeah, he's famous for getting his ass handed to him every time he picks a fight."
[Child] "w-what?"
[Ryu] "oh, never mind. Now then, should we get going you two?"
[Cyan] "yeah!"

As Cyan began to walk towards me the the little mouse girl tugged on his sleeve.

[Cyan] "It's okay Millie, Big brother Ryu's a good person!"
