"Mom im home! Jasmine is coming over in a bit is that ok?" I called throwing my bag on the floor and heading into the kitchen. "Yeah that's fine honey" my mom said taking a batch of cookies from the oven. I took one from the plate and bit into it as my mom slapped my hand with a tea towel. "Oi Violet!" she said smiling, "Mm these are tasty" I said my mouth full. "Where's Arabella?" I asked, "At ballet I believe" my mom answered. That girl has a list of after school activities as long as my arm! "That's nice im heading down the stables" I said jumping off the counter, "Ok better not forget these, I'll send Jasmine down when she gets here" she told me handing me a bag of sugar cubes.
I ran the length of the vineyard as excited neighing cam from the paddock. Marmalade stuck her head over the fence as I climbed onto it and she snuffled at my top trying to get to the sugar cubes. She stuck her nose in my jacket and grabbed the bag, she promptly ran off into the field. "Marmalade they aren't all for you!" I shouted chasing her, the other horses crowded round her as they pulled at the bag splitting it. I tutted as they all whinnied at me, "you guys are so mischievous!" I said. "They are aren't they" A voice said as I spun round and saw Jasmine leaning on the fence. "Oh hey yeah the greedy little monsters ate all my sugar cubes leaving me the packet" I said laughing.
I watched her climb over the fence and wander over to me, the horses came over and started nuzzling her. "I don't have any treats im afraid guys" she said as the all blew air at her an trotted off. "So who are we taking?" she asked, "Marmalade and butterscotch but I think the others want to come too" I said as 6 heads peered out from the stable. "Do we have anything to take them with?" Jasmine asked, "We do indeed I have rope we can tie their head collars together" I said. "Sure sounds good to me, I mean they know their names right?" she asked. "Lets test is shall we" I said heading to the other side of the field. "Marmalade!" I shouted as my cream horse came trotting up to me and stopped in front of me.
"Butterscotch, Rosie, Midnight, Cocoa and Buttercup" I yelled as they all ran up to me and stopped in front of me neighing. "Well they definitely know their names!" she said laughing, "Come on then girls lets get you ready!" I said running into the stable and grabbing the rope. I tied their head collars together and led them out of the field, I climbed onto marmalade as grabbed the rope and her reins. Jasmine climbed onto Butterscotch as I clicked my tongue and they all galloped through the vineyard. The horses kept up with each other easily as we ran through the woods and into the lavender field behind my house. "Whoa girl" I said slowing Marmalade down and stopping her.
I climbed down and untied the horses they didn't really venture far, I sat down in the long lavender plants and stared up at the sky. "So I've entered a competition on twitter to win tickets" Jasmine said. "Really? When do you find out if you've won?" I asked, "Next week" she answered. "Oh yay I hope you win!" I said sitting up, "Yeah me t.." she started and stopped mid sentence. "What?" I asked looking where she was pointing, "Cocoa come back!" I shouted as she disappeared. "Dammit Jaz keep an eye on the rest of them for me" I said clicking my tongue and calling Rosie.
She trotted over and stuck her white nose in my hair, I climbed on and stroked her neck grabbing the rope Jasmine threw up to me. "Come on girl lets go get cocoa!" I said as she galloped towards the chocolate brown speck getting nearer and nearer to the road. We started to get closer as Cocoa went to run towards the road, "Cocoa no stop!" I shouted as she whinnied stepping into the road. I saw a rope go over her head and a guy leading her back to the field. He had dark hair, blue jeans and a checked shirt on with sunglasses.
"I believe this is yours" he said handing me the lead rope. "Thanks" I said sliding off and petting Cocoa. "Its ok" he answered, I smiled and who do I have to thank?" I asked. "Erm Mitchel" he said smiling, "Well thanks Mitchel" I said shaking his hand. "That's ok will you be ok leading them both back?" he asked, "Is that an offer to help?" I replied. "If you want to call it that yes" he answered, "Then sure you may as well come meet the rest of the rabble, do you ride?" I questioned. "Awesome and yeah a little bit" he said as I climbed back onto Rosie, "Go on then get on she wont hurt you" I said as he climbed on Cocoa. She shook her head as I urged Rosie to go, we raced up the field laughing.
Rosie was a bit faster though but cocoa had no trouble keeping up, as we reached the rest of them Jasmine raised an eyebrow and stood up. "Hey Violet, who's this?" she asked as I slid down and landed softly on the grass. "This Is Mitchel he stopped Cocoa going in the road" I said as he stepped forward and shook Jasmines hand. "Its very nice to meet you" he said smiling, "Likewise" she answered looking him up and down. "Will you be ok to get them all home?" he asked, "should be thanks again" I said grabbing the rope and tying them together.
"Its cool , nice bracelet by the way" he said as I glanced down at my I <3 Adam Lambert bracelet. "Thanks, im a big fan of his" I said, "good to know" he answered smiling and heading back down the field. "Well that was weird" I said, "Yeah a little bit, that guy seemed very similar" Jasmine said. "Similar how?" I answered walking through the woods leading the horses. "He had black nail varnish on, dark hair, earrings and Im sure he had a necklace just like what Adam wears" she said. " Yeah but it couldn't possibly be him he's in LA isn't he?" I said. "Yeah but he liked your bracelet the I <3 Adam one" she answered.
"I doubt it was him Jaz" I said pushing open the gate to the horses paddock and untying the rope. "Hm well I guess we will never know, I mean you couldn't see his eyes he has glasses on" she answered. "True that come on lets go get a strawberry milkshake indoors, mom made choc chip cookies too" I said smiling as we headed back inside..
