You were definitely not the type of girl humanity’s strongest would ever seem to take an interest in. You were a bit too energized for your own good, sometimes a bit too loud and outspoken, too kind, and far too childish. Then there’s Levi, who is stoic, terrifying violent, and painfully brutal with his criticism. Total opposites.
Levi didn't see it that way. Your energy made you fierce in training and as a soldier. Your outspokenness made you honest. Your kindness was something very rarely seen in a world corrupted by the desperation to survive and thrive. Your childish personality was good for the moral of your fellow soldiers. You had no shame of embarrassing yourself so long as it made someone else laugh. Though he had never showed it, Levi admired you greatly.
He just didn't know how to express his admiration, nor did he know how you'd react if he told you of his feelings.
You, on the other hand, secretly crushed hard on the vertically challenged ravenette. You admired his skills as a soldier, and respected his authority as an officer. Everyone was terrified of him due to his apparent lack of emotion, some even going as far as to call him ‘heartless’. You knew better.
You had seen the look in his eyes as he made the hard decision to leave the corpses of his fallen team behind to distract the titans and allow the survivors to make it safely back to the wall after the female titan attacked. You saw the pain and anguish lurking in his storm grey eyes. It was heartbreaking.
Currently, you were sitting in the mess hall, laughing with the other soldiers from the 104th trainees. You were oblivious to the pair of stormy cloud eyes watching your every move. They had been focused on you the entire day, admiring the way you blazed through training with ease with energy to spare. However, he wasn't the oblivious brat that you were. He knew he wasn't the only one who had noticed you.
Hell, ninety percent of the male population was drawn to you like a moth to flame due to the fact that you were as beautiful as your child like personality. You were like a breath of fresh air, and a light in the darkness. The hell that you've been through couldn't break your optimism, giving others hope for a future.
However, his glare deepened as the shitty horse faced brat said something that had caused you to blush. His arrogant smirk held promise that he wasn't after a simple friendship with you, and Levi refused to let you fall for someone who didn't understand just how amazing you truly were.
Standing up, Levi made his way over to you both with a glare that made the soldiers he pasted look away out of fear of punishment for sticking their nose where it didn't belong, “Kirstein, stable duty for a month. L/n, my office. Now.”
“B-but-”
His cold glare narrowed at you, “are you refusing to follow orders, Brat?”
“No, Sir.”
“Good.”
You were nervous about what you could have done that earned you a trip to Levi's office. You couldn't think of anything you did that would warrant any punishment from the strict Corporal. Your routine hasn't changed, nor did you act any different than you usually did. He had never called her out before. She had been praised (sort of) for how hard she worked, receiving a curt nod from the short ravenette.
Tensing as you came to his office door, you knocked firmly.
“Name and business.”
“Cadet L/n. You requested to see me, Sir.”
“Come in.”
You opened the door to see him sitting at his desk going through paperwork. His grey eyes were set in a deep scowl as he signed paper after paper, almost as if you were never there to begin with, “do you know why I called you in here?”
