C HA P T E R F O U R - UNWANTED ATTENTION
Scarlett's POV
College wasn't like I expected it to be. But in the same way, it's everything I have dreamed of. Now that I'm here I'm worried, worried that maybe I rushed it too soon. It seems like I just finished high school. I don't know anymore. I lay in bed as I stare at the ceiling and wonder to myself if I had just waited a year for college and what terms Jack and I would be on by the end of this whole "college" thing.
I wonder how Jack is doing as well. I feel like calling him, but I hate being that girl who is always checking in. I wish him well, and doze off to sleep still thinking about starting classes tomorrow and of Jack and how I hope he is having fun and meeting guys.
The smell of bacon and eggs fill my nose, as Anne cooks breakfast. She's a delightful cook. Maybe she should have been a professional cook instead of studying Health. My dream is to be a lawyer of a big celebrity. I would get mail from them about their taxes, I don't know. I've always dreamed of having that type of job.
I get up out of my now messy bed and walk over to the table that has my food prepared and Anne sitting across from it.
"Good Morning." She said as she grabbed her bacon and munched on it. The food was too delicious, that I ate it all in seconds. Once I was finished I got ready for my first two hour class of the day.
I knew I didn't have to get all nice and cute, for college like I did in High School. For high school there is always some big "judgement" thing going around. I'm just so used to curling my hair and putting on nice clothes that, that's what I did this morning.
I looked to Anne who was wearing some sweatpants and a fitted t-shirt.
"Compared to you, I look homeless." She laughed. I laughed along with her too because we both know, Anne could afford my closet and 2 more. I guess Anne was the kind of girl who spent her money on necessary things like pads and pencils, not clothes and perfume.
We both walk out of our dorm together and go down the elevator to walk over to the building next to the "dorm" building. I had never seen what the actual inside of the school looked like. I guess I'm just being weird, don't all schools look the same?
As I walked into the hallway of the first floor, I felt Anne nudge my shoulder. She waved a little goodbye and gave me a tiny thumbs up as she walked away to her first two hour class of the new year. I made my way to the "new freshman/transfers" area and signed in.
"Scarlett McAllister." I said to the lady in from of me. She was handing out notebooks and schedules.
I feel a tap on my shoulder that keeps continuing to get annoying by the second. Once I get everything I need to from the lady, I turn around and give the ridiculous guy a glare. I look around and see other girls signing in. They're all in sweatpants and jeans like Anne was.
"Greg Turner." I hear the guy say that was behind me tapping on my shoulder. He gave me a smirk and then looked forward to the lady that handed him papers.
"Scarlett, eh?" He asked as we walked out of the auditorium together. He was fair skinned and had brown hair, but amazing blue eyes. He looked nothing like Jack, but then again no one really does.
"Yeah, and you're Greg?" I ask him, already knowing since he told the lady.
He walked with me, not talking.
"So what are you majoring in?" He asked.
"Law." I said. He was smiling, with that quirky smile.
"Ha, my brother is too. Look for Daniel. I'm studying Language." he said smirking.
I walked away cautiously, having eyes in the back of my head. But it didn't help - because I don't. But I could feel his stare as I looked down at my paper to see where Algebra would be.
I didn't know how I felt about Greg, he was cute and funny - but I could tell he was trouble just waiting to happen. I walk into Algebra and sit down in a seat that I would normally take, the back.
"Scarlett?" Asked a small voice from in front of me. My head was down low, and I decided to keep it there until the voice echoed in my ear. A small dainty figure was standing in front of me with her head held high but her voice was low.
"Uh, yes?" I asked. She had short strawberry blonde hair and a nice petite figure.
"I'm Addison. I'm supposed to show you around Harvard today and tell you everything." She said. She sat down beside me and giggled. "How is it so far? I heard you have Anne for your roommate." She said her little squeaky voice giving me a bit of a headache.
"She's amazing."
"She's an amazing cook too." She added before quieting herself and looking to the front of the classroom. The class had 6 rows of seats, 5 of them going across. I was in the 5th row, in the 3rd seat sitting beside Addison. I felt a little pinch on my shoulder and ignored it to pay attention to my Professor - Professor Potter.
The flicking kept repeating as did my annoyance to the person behind me. Finally the pinching stopped, but I did get a note thrown to me.

I crumbled up the paper, but it was loud. Maybe a bit too loud.
"Ms. McAllister would you to read the note you have just crumbled? He asked me with a smirk on his face. Great, he was one of those professors. I shook my head and started to mentally tell him I was fine. But he didn't care.
"Okay Ms. McAllister, detention. Unless you want to reveal your note." He says. I'd never had detention before. I definitely didn't want to read the note whether or not it was written by me or not. So I took my chances. I walked up to the front of the classroom and accepted the detention slip that he had in his hands. "Oh, and Ms. McAllister, I suggest you don't do that's again." He said before continuing class.
