C H A P T E R S E V E N T E E N : GREG VS. JACK

Scarlett's POV

"It looks cute." I said to Greg, regarding his blue and white bow tie. Holden was also wearing a blue and white bow tie, but he wore a vest as well. We were all in my mom's house putting on our garments for Suzanne's wedding. Suzanne was also there but in the backroom. Greg and Holden were about to drive over to the church to wait for Suzanne with Brent.

Apparently, Suzanne had been going to the church my mom had been going to and she liked it so much she decided to have her wedding there. They quickly left leaving Suzanne and I, waiting for the other bridesmaids. I stood by Suzanne admiring her and how gorgeous she looked in her dress.

Her hair was put into a bun, and was constantly being sprayed every 2 mintues. Shortly after another hairspray round, Lucy and Jenn arrived to the door along with Lizzie from Lizzie's Finest - a diner Suzanne and I would go to all the time just to act like we were being servants working undercover for the government.

We quickly put on our bridesmaids dresses as Suzanne's mom brought in Bella. Bella was supposed to be the flower girl but she had to be walked up to the front with the help of Mrs. Pritchett. Speaking of Mrs. Pritchett, she was happy her daughter wouldn't have to live with her anymore because I guess Brent and Suzanne are going to buy or rent a house. Although, Mr. Pritchett isn't as fond, he's probably secretly crying in the corner.

Jack's POV

I sit in the back seat of Brent's truck as he drives himself and I to his own wedding. He didn't invite his parents for the before mentioned personal isssues, but I'm guessing he hasn't told Suzanne that. He's been living on his own basically, except his grandparents help him pay for everything.

I honestly have no idea why I'm in the back seat when the passengers seat is clearly unoccupied. We drive up to the church and find the parking spot that is reserved for the people attending the wedding. It's a Sunday afternoon, all the regular church goers are leaving. We're there 2 hours early, but I guess thats whats supposed to happen.

I have never been to a wedding but I have always guessed it would either be on a beach or in one of those gazeebos. Brent and I walk inside to find that Greg and, I think his name is, Holden already waiting and standing in tuxes and matching bow ties.

I look around seeing who they're waiting for when Brent walks over to them and shakes both of their hands.

"I'm so glad you guys could make it." They both nodded their heads as Brent included. "This is Jack, Jack meet Greg and Holden." He gestured me towards them and smiled as if we we're meeting for the first time.

Technically we were meeting for the first time, but because I had heard of both of them I felt like I already new them both. I tried my best to look happy and welcoming but as soon as I shook that blonde guys hand, I pulled Brent to the side to talk to him.

"What the hell are they doing here?"

"They're here for the wedding, just like you.' He said, still smiling and cheerful.

"Why did you invite them?" I asked, wondering how he even knew them to invite them.

"I didn't invite them, they're here with Scarlett." he said it so casually as if he though I knew.

I looked down to my feet embarassed. I should have let Sam come with me. Now I don't even have a date, but if only Scarlett never had met them she would be with me and not them. I just had to convince myself that they only came as friends, only friends. And we were technically still together, we had never broken anything off.

Maybe if I could just talk to her and explain that Sam is only my roommate, then maybe she would give me a second chance... scratch that, this is probably my third chance.

Scarlett's POV

The time had arrived for when all five of us, plus my mom and Suzanne's parents got into the limo and headed to the church. Suzanne was literally freaking out. She was biting her nails and going through the list of everything that needed to be done and in the time slot.

"Don't worry, your staff has this covered, it's your time Suzanne. You're going to be Suzanne Madison." We all squealed after the little pep talk I gave her. I remember just a year and a half ago Brent and I were dating and kind of working out, when all along Suzanne and Brent were supposed to have sex all along.

I still don't understand any of it, but what gives. We arrived at the church 20 minutes after we got into the limo, Suzanne got out, almost breaking her toe as someone helped me with my wheelchair. I knew what Doctor Lorenzo said, but I really wanted to walk for my best friends wedding.

I was still listening to him. He said to only walk when I need to. I'm going to be only using the wheelchair when I need to, its sort of the same thing, right?

Everyone who was invited were sitting in the rows of chairs. Suzanne was with her dad and all of the brides maids and even Bella were in the back. I could see the back of Greg's head. Even though he had the same hair color as millions of other guys that were there, I could spot him.

The traditional wedding song, duh - duh - duh duh. duh - duh - duh duh, played as the flower girl with the help of Mrs. Pritchett flew some flowers on the carpet that lay out in front of them. One by one, Lucy, Jenn, Lizzie, and I started to walk out to the alter. The walkway seemed like it lasted for ages, but we eventually got to the front.

Then, came Suzanne. Her wedding dress flowed behind her as she walk down beside her father, Brent taking her at the last second. Everyone seated when she came to the alter. Bella had to sit down because she was just a teensy thing, but the bridesmaids and men were standing by the bride and groom. Across from me, I could see Jack staring off into space as the priest began to say a prayer.

_______________

"Do you, Suzanne Pritchett, wish to marry the man in front of you?"

"I do." Suzanne looked like she was about to cry happy tears.

"And do you, Brent Madison, wish to marry the woman in front of you?"

"I do."

"Okay, if anyone objects this wedding, speak now or forever hold your peace."

None stood or objected.

"Okay, I present to you husband and wife, You may kiss the bride."

Brent and Suzanne gave each other a quick peck, saving what they had for later. Everyone appluaded, as music started playing again. People filed out of the main church to drive over to the after party.

"Scarlett" Suzanne rushed over to me, Brent speaking to Jack. 'Collin is here."

"Who?" I asked.

"The guy who I started liking after Brent got me pregnant."
