I was sitting by the coffee table as Jason was reading his newspaper.

“Have you eaten already?” He asked.

“Not really hungry.”

He lowered his newspaper and glared at me. I quickly changed the subject.

“So the emails get checked by the company huh?” I asked taking a sip of my latte.

“Yes, so I bought you this.” He stood up and walked out of the living room. As he walked back he had a small box in his hands.

“What is it?” I asked taking the box from him.

“An IPhone 5s.” He replied taking his former spot and grabbing his paper again.

“Jason I can’t take this. Not after all you did for me.”

“I’m not asking you,” Jason stated.

“Jason I can’t take it.”

“Jane don’t.”

“But Ja-“

“Jane shut up, if I want to buy you a phone, I buy you a fucking phone.”

I sighed. “Why do you always act like it’s nothing?”

“Because for me it is nothing.” He replied irritated.

“Why do you always act this way Jason, I know you can everything you want. But don’t let it change who you are. Not in front of me.” I said.

He sighed and stood up. “I’m not doing this right now.” He said already walking away.

“Jason don’t walk away when it gets hard. It’s hard for me too.” So that’s it. This argument wasn’t about the phone anymore; good job Jane (note sarcasm).

“What’s could possible be so hard for you?” He backfired.

“You.” I stated.

He walked back, his head down and deep sighs came out his mouth.

“Money doesn’t affect the way I live. People do.”

“Am I a bad influence?” I asked.

“No Jane, but plenty of people I know… Knew, are.”

“Your so hard to estimate. I never know what you think. Sometimes I even wonder if you would still want me here.” Jason’s eyes shot open.

“Of course I want you here. After everything you still question that?” He asked me.

“N-No I just wonder what’s in your mind, and I don’t know when your feelings for me could change” I looked down and whispered. “Where only seventeen.”

“Fuck seventeen.” His eyes and voice where defiant.

“If I where to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If we were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.” Jason always told me he wanted me. Or that I was his. But never did he say anything like this, he saw me. He saw all of me. And he wanted it.

“I love you.” I finally let out. His eyes where getting even more big as they burned into mine. He was shocked but also looking for doubt in my eyes. He slowly came over to me.

“I want this.” He said pulling a strand of hair behind my ear.

“I want you. I want us. Every minute, everyday, forever.” He lifted my chin up and gave me a subtle kiss. It lasted not longer than a second but it made a bomb go off I my head.
