Writing & Book Cover Tips::
This issue I’d like to discuss is book covers. Everyone is aware of the common phrase “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” right? Well, we ALL try not to, but first impressions always affect how you perceive something. When you are making a cover for you book, you need to capture people’s attention. Try not using boring, bland colors, like white, black, brown, or beige for background colors.
People are also using boring effective pictures off free websites (stick on glasses and champagne bottles) that just add a boring effect to the book. It also matches up with the fact the the title has to be easy to read. You don't want a brilliant book cover with no read-able title, do you now?
The last thing to add is the title itself. Personally, I like short and catchy titles that make me think 'wow, I might just read this'. But I'm constantly coming across super long titles that describe the WHOLE book. Like, seriously, who wants to read 'A vampire story where the vampire is super hot, eats people's blood but turns on girls. Girls end up falling for him and he finally makes her into a vampire' with a title like that!!!
