Aria Montgomery:

I woke up at 8:30, my head felt sore, but I could manage throughout the day. I didn’t want to think about today; how I would be injected with a fluid to take the test. I thought about last night how I think Cody wrapped his hand around mine.

I snap back to reality, I slowly crept out of my bedroom which is at the very end of the hallway making the journey to the kitchen long. I was happy at this because it would take much shorter if I had Alex’s room which was at the very front of the hallway.

As I neared the kitchen I heard singing beautiful singing, it was my mother. Wow, she was in a good mood surprisingly. She had a glorious voice considering she was a Fairy. Almost all Fairies either played an instrument or sing because the only way we can grow plants fast and health and talk to animals.

“Good morning Sleeping Beauty,” my mom said in a musical voice, I groaned in response, I had to take the test today. I sat at the table and looked at Alex gobbling up all the bacon and eggs. He asked for sunny-side up and a little on the runny side as usual. I like my eggs scrambled and at leasted cooked more. My bacon squishy in the middle but crispy at the edges.

My mom served me some eggs and bacon after like ten minutes long after Alex left the table to do his remaining homework. All my food vanished in five minutes tops,”Don’t choke yourself Aria,” my mother said as she picked up my plate.

I asked,“Mom is it okay if I go take a run?” I fully knew what her response would be like if I ever asked her if I could do anything athletic. She quickly nodded yes and I ran to my room.

I pulled on some shorts, a sports bra, and a Dri-Fit tank top so I wouldn’t have any sweat marks. I then grabbed my iPod and some earbuds, then some running shoes too. I was out of the house in a few minutes before the clock struck nine.

As soon as I sized to my regular form I started to run, I already knew my route. I always took this route whenever I ran, I’d run through the city to the Golden Gate Bridge, which I have no idea why they named it that because it was a faded color of red which was probably a lot brighter back then when everyone was a Mortal. After reaching the bridge I would fly back home like I always do.

The bridge was a about two miles away from my house which would take like twenty minutes jogging the whole way. I decide that I want to jog because I wouldn’t lose too much energy and I wanted the trip to take at least an hour. That means I would have to make a stop or two on the way there or back.

I jog straight for about eight minutes and find an stand where a Mortal is selling ice cream on a cone. I order a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough in a waffle cone with some marshmallow drizzle on top for $3.00. I just sat at the bench and ate the ice cream and cone for like twelve minutes and took off again.

After seems like forever the bridge comes into view I push myself harder even though I’m so tired already. As I reach the middle of the bridge I veer off to the left side of the bridge. The adrenaline keeps me pumping throughout the motion. I run to the very edge, jump on the railing. I jump.

The wind is rushing past me I open my wings a millisecond before I hit the water and glide just above the surface. I reach down to touch the sparkling water

My favorite part about this route is jumping off and opening my wings at the last second. I just love the burst of adrenaline. Maybe, I would be better off as a Vampire or something. I wondered what life would be if I were to move Supernaturals instead of staying here.

I’m flying at the skyscraper height now, I dive straight towards the pavement. The onlookers gasp as I near the cracked road, Grinning, I tuck my wings even closer to my sides. My wings open just at the right moment and I swoop up just before I hit the asphalt. The exhale of relieved bystanders reach my ears like a whisper, I smile.
