The Big Secret

Chapter 3

Lexi's POV:

"Sara, wait up please! I have all the classes with you remember." I ran after Sara as fast as I could without slipping on the tiles.

"Sara please, you can't still be mad at me for not greeting you properly. I was in a hurry. Come on I switched classes so that we besties can stick together." Sara finally turned towards me with a smile and said

" Hoped you learn your lesson on proper greeting now." I stared at her like I was dumb founded but the look on my face was so funny we laughed almost immediately after.

"Yes aunty Sara, I promise to greet you properly from now on. Cross my heart swear to die and pinky promise to it." I held out my pinky and she took it with her own.

Soon we walked into our first period laughing and settled down right next to each other still talking about Ruthess's pick up lines that needed some work.

"You know I can hear you girls perfectly clear from behind you right? Really my pick up lines are not that bad." Sara and I jumped out of our seats by the subtle Ruthess speaking behind us.

We didn't even notice him entering the class room and sitting right behind us. Shocked we stared at each other with blank faces.

"Oh sorry, did the cat catch your tongues?" Ruthess said with a smirk. Sara and I just shook our heads and took our seats again. Still shocked about how much did Ruthess hear.

Man, that guy Ruthess sure is a sneaky little devil. I'll have to keep an eye on him from now on, because if I'm not careful he might find out my secrets.

Later at lunch our little group met up at our usual spot next to a big old tree in the garden. I must say this place does feel much safer than the cafeteria where food usually flies every ten seconds.

Sara and I finished our sandwiches and challenged each other to see who can climb the highest in the old tree. The boys including Sofia looked at us like we are insane or lost a few screws.

"Ready, set , go!" Brain said and the competition was on. In the end Sara cheated and used one of her powers to fly up the tree. Being new at being a drooler I did not know how to do it and had to accept second place.

"Oh I will beat you next time Sara, just wait and see." I said while sticking out my tongue like a little brat. Sara just laughed.

"Deal's on Lexi." She said with a wink like she did not even believe me. You just wait and see Sara I will beat you someday. Even if it's not today.

Later that day Sara and I met up and went for some ice cream and it was delicious. Sara told me she only likes strawberries ice cream where I prefer the oreo cookies flavour. She really is a great friend. We finished up and went our own ways.

By the time I got to my home my parents was already there. Dad reading his newspaper and mom making some tea.

"Oh hello sweetheart you're home. Where have you been all this time?" Mom said with much concern.

" Just hanging out with Sara mom. We ate some ice cream down the block." The best part of my parents is that no matter how hard they worked during the day or night they will always made some time for me, even when we all are in pretty bad moods.

I told them how my day went and they laughed at how Sara and I had been caught of guard by Ruthess while we where gossiping about him.

They told me their day also went well and that they already had learned so many new things like new powers or how to even be the leader of the hardest beings called drackless.

Its like a dragon mixed with a vampire and are very dangerous to handle if you don't know what you are doing. Luckily my dad is an uptight and my mom a drooler so this was a day in day out thing for them and man did they love to learn new things.

Even though moving was a big deal and we did have our doubts it turned out pretty great.

I went uo to my bedroom and open the window shill. I watch as the millions of fireflies danced across the dark ocean. They sparkled all night. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. Now if only my nightmares could go away and give me just one peaceful night of sleep then it will be the best day ever.

I went to bed and tried to get some sleep, but as always the memories played in my mind of that terrible day. I lost so much. I even lost myself.

Oh little May-May. Where is your fluffy fur to comfort me tonight. To catch my tears and purr me off to sleep again. You are the only one except mom and dad who knows my pretty. Yet dark secret. I even miss the laughter, but everything is darkness now. It all turned grey. The lights and beautiful colors had failed and disappeared.

I wish everything was the way it used to be, but then I wouldn't have met Sara. She is the little light of hope for me. The beacon that shone me the way back too safety. She is like the big sister I never had before. She is surely and angel send from above.
