The Drip Drop Poem

Rain pours down upon me
Each droplet heavier than the last
The weight of what's to be
Somehow exceeding that of the past

A tear rolls from my eye
My soaked being
Standing, shivering
I finally start seeing

I can see you
Turn away, leaving
I hold back tears
I just want to tell you that I'm sorry

Heavy is the rain
Drip drop
Each memory continues to restrain
Drip drop

Your sweet eyes fall upon mine
Together at last
However back in line
I am torn apart from the past

Dark and glassy is the sky
Lightning strikes in the distance
Reflecting, a turmoil flies
From inside it starts to dance

A warm hand grasps mine
I don't see anyone there
A shiver runs through my spine
As I reach to feel where-

CRASH! Thunder shakes the ground
I lose my balance and fall
Perhaps one day I'll be found
For now, I just listen to it all
Drip drop
