A/N: There will be a different ending. ; D

Beep beep beep

Someone was saying something. He floated down taking note of blinding amount of white. The only thing that wasn't white was a deep sea blue curtain and a leafy plant. It was a hospital room he noted. He sat on a relatively comfortable bed. One that made him jealous of his own bed at home. There was a potted plant in the corner and near it a window. Slowly he seemed to drift towards the window taking in the city lights. It was dark out which made the far away skyscrapers seem like shelves holding millions of stars.

Beep

Startled he swiftly turned around. He couldn't see the bed that he had previously sat on before but saw a heart monitor. He gasped not noticing another bed. He recognised the body that lay there. The body slept in a similar bed. Her dark hair was splayed over the pillow as if someone spilled ink on silk. This was the girl he had given up his life to save. He knew that there were many more bland office workers than people who would become determined persecuting lawyers. He smiled at the thought. Hopefully she'd have her memory back. He sat down beside her sleeping form. By the looks of all the machines hooked to her, the bandages that covered wounds, and the fresh flowers left by her bedside table, Karkat knew that she would be fine. Unbeknownst to him he began crying.

"Damn it why I am crying?!" He whispered understanding why her bedsheets had started to grow spots. Now wasn't the time to lie to himself that it was just inside rain. He furiously rubbed away his tears. "...Why?" He croaked out. He knew why. Why he was crying.

Terezi. The girl he now knew he loved. The one he wished he could every morning of his miserable life. She had broken the cycle of his life. No longer was it eat work sleep. He had something to look forward to every morning. Someone to wake up to. Like the light revitalising the grass she was his sun to his soul. It can be immensely easy to get attached to the light. Whether it be a small ray of hope, humans still want to search and grasp onto it. Terezi brought light to his world. Though the light was shattered momentarily before glowing strong again with never ending hope. She wasn't just a light to him though. She had a family that loved her, who depended on her boosting their morale. What was he in comparison? Tears fell from his face as he thought. No one cared about him. He sighed.

Time seems endless. The only thing telling him the time was the window but even then he paid it no attention. He stirred from his endless slumber. At least that what he thought. His eyes were stuck this time, body chained against white marble. A voice drifted down towards him. He couldn't see. His eyelids became weights all of a sudden.

"Remember"

Remember what? Tell me! He grew impatient at the voice. Eventually the voice continued.

"Sleeping?"

All the anger faded at once. Everything felt at peace like an eternal flame. That voice. A voice he missed. A voice he would never forget. A voice that melted the sadness from his heart.

Terezi

You're alive. Happiness finally flooded his senses. He could float. Float far far away without a care.

You're alive! He repeated it like a mantra. Her voice continued after sometime. He patiently waiting. He had managed to save his light. A light that was brighter and far more important than his own.

"You were talking about how one day you could rule the world and make so that no one ever annoyed you ever again"

But that was because everyone wouldn't leave me alone
