"LUNA" I gasped. Clenching my fists, I dove into the snow and swam through it. Pain shot through my wing as I burrowed through the ice. I bit my lip hard, so hard, in fact, that my lip started to drip blood. The freezing cold snow was beginning to numb my fingers. Suddenly, I felt a soft clump of fur. It was Comet!"COMET! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" He didn't respond. I raised my uninjured wing and started scooping the snow out of the way, loosening its grip on the big wolf. Grabbing the scruff of his neck, I tried to drag him out of the tunnel. He was too heavy for me to pull, however. "HELP! COMET' S HURT!", I yelled. No one responded. "SOMEBODY HELP!" Neither fire nor snow were in my element. Technically speaking, I was a Sky Faerie. And by the look of things, neither one of us were in the sky. I tapped on the Fire Wolf's bruised head, desperate to wake him up. "Comet, please get up! Please," I begged. "You have to move." I buried my face in his soft fur and started crying. "Oh, you stupid dog! Why didn't you listen to my warning? Why? Please wake up! Please." The snow at the top of the tunnel suddenly caved in, trapping both of us inside. Exhaustion overtook me, so that I couldn't tunnel out again. I collapsed on top of the wolf. So this is how it ended. I was broken, bruised, defeated, and I had failed my friends. With the last of my strength, I cast a small beam of silver light. My vision was growing dim, though. The light was growing darker by the minute. Suddenly, a ray of light beamed through the tunnel, and two white paws burst through the snow. And then everything went black.
