We voted to spend the night at the base of the mountain. Luna spent some time teaching Storm how to be the Beta. Leaf worked with Twig on his hunting crouch. Once everyone settled down to sleep, Comet, Flame, and Wind took turns sitting guard. When morning came we started the long and hard climb up the mountain. By the look of it, it would take a month or two. After an hour and barely any progress up the rocky mountain, Twig became tired. So Storm and I took turns carrying Twig. Another hour passed of little progress. Now Twig was asleep on Leaf's back. After another hour more of a little progress through the hard terrain, Misty grew tired so Flame asked for an hours rest. We thankfully ended up by a small stream on the mountain, so everybody got to drink some water. Then I led a hunting party consisting of me, Storm, and Rain. We returned with only two rabbits. So Twig and Misty got to eat. After two hours of resting, we got moving again with Carthadin leading the way. We still hadn't gotten very far up the mountain and night had come. This time when we stopped we didn't get the advantage of water and we found no food. Carthadin even flew off for a while and returned with no luck. A week later we were only a quarter way up the mountain. We were having to rest for fifteen minutes after every hour of travel for Misty and Twig.
