Chapter 4 - Investments

Leo walks into the lobby while his men are busy checking him and the other rooms out. Nicholas is standing by the elevator with a walking stick in his hand to support the injured leg. He notices Leo walk in and he nods and follows him.

"Leo, this is the packet we received for cruise line investment from the manager by FedEx this morning." Nicholas hands over the packet to Leo. Leo nods and he turns to Nicholas "Find the whereabouts of Peter's strategist, and bring her to me. Her name is 'Angela'. She seems to have made several millions for him on investments and also given some key strategies for improving the image and business for his hotel chain. She will come in handy, when you know... we take over!" Leo winks and Nicholas laughs

"Oh yes of course! handy!" Nicholas knowing how Leo handles any young lady shakes his head. Leo gets into his limo and gestures for the driver to take him to the destination as per his schedule. Leo reaches the headquarters of the Dream waves Cruise lines group. He walks in and asks for Mr. Robert Smith's office. He is escorted into the CEO/Chairman's office.

"Welcome to our office Mr. Mancini."

"Call me Leonardo, Mr. Smith."

"You can call me Robert as well Leonardo." Leo nods "This is a proposal from our group. We are highly impressed with all the cruise ships you have had afloat in different routes. I am also very impressed at the modern bars with the robots as bartenders, the technological advancements you have incorporated into the entertainment aspects of the experience, is amazing. We think that investing into your business will not only give you the budget you were looking for making more improvements, but will give us a chance to venture and partner with visionaries such as yourself."

Robert nods a thank you and looks through the proposal.

"To tell you the truth Leonardo, we were looking for funds but clearly not from private parties, because you know we are a family owned business and we wanted to keep it that way. But since you came along and are giving this most enticing offer of funds at such a low interest, we will certainly give it due consideration. The percentage of profit seems a bit steeper than I expected."

Robert looks to Leo with a notion to negotiate.

"I am interested to invest one billion dollars Robert and I expect a fair treatment in terms of profit sharing. As you can see, we are giving you cold cash, all at once, so I think it is pretty sweet deal. I am sure you and your group would agree that cash does not come in that easy and certainly not those amounts and for sure not for free. I am a business man and so are you, we both can agree that we are only asking for our fair share. Please let me know if you are willing to move forward with the deal at your earliest convenience, and your group can discuss all the details with my accounting group and VP of finance, Mr. James Coral, all the contact details are on the paperwork there. I will hope to hear from you soon." Leo stands up from his chair and extends his hand to shake Robert's hand.

Robert feels a bit surprised at Leo's ways of 'crisp, to the point, straight forward attitude' but also quickly realizes that he is not a young ruthless billionaire without a reason. Robert shakes his hand "I will let you know soon Leonardo. Please let me know if our cruise ships can be of any service to you or your family any time and we would be very much obliged to make it your dream trip." Leo nods, smiles "Thank you Robert, I will get going now." Leo leaves the CEO's office and walks back to his limo with his body guards in a tow.

Leo's phone vibrates and he picks up the call "Hey Nicholas, wassup?"

"We looked for this strategist and all evidence is pointing to Peter's properties. It seems that he has housed this so called strategist in his property, sort of like lodging and boarding deal. We are not entirely clear of Peter's relationship with 'Angela' but it seems like they know each other well enough to be living in one of his properties."
