You are six years old in this by the way.
You woke up from another night terror. You cried and hugged your teddy bear that your grandma gave you. You missed her so much. You just wanted her to come back from her trip. But she was never coming home because she passed away but you were too young to understand death.
Wiping away your tears you crawled out of your bed and ran downstairs to the basement to your big brother's room as fast as your little legs would go. You opened his door and it made a harsh creaking noise. Gerard groaned from the noise and sat up.
"(Y/n)? What are you doing up so late? And more importantly why are you in my room?" You brother yawned, obviously annoyed at the fact that his little sister just barged in his room at 4 in the morning. "I had bad dream! I scared bubby!" You cried. "A bad dream?" He asked, tilting his head.
You nodded and sniffled. Gerard sighed and got up from his Star Wars sheeted bed and came over to you picking you up. "Why didn't you just go in Mikey's room?" He asked as he swayed you gently. "Because! He's at the fro man's house tonight!" You cried.
Gerard laughed softly. He knew you were talking about Ray. "Again huh? Those two I swear." He chuckled. Gerard carried you back to the bed and sat down, still holding you. "Gerard? When's grandma coming home?" You asked.
Gerard frowned and looked down for a second. "(Y/n), I've told you many times, grandma's up in heaven. You can't really come back here once you go there. But she's in a better place now. One day we'll see again when we pass away." Your brother explained, despite the fact he didn't believe in heaven.
You sniffled and and hugged your big brother and cried. He gently hugged your frail body back and stroked your hair. "Want me to sing you the song I wrote for her?" Gerard asked, now more awake and less cranky. You nodded and he began to sing, very softly though.
"Long ago
Just like the hearse, you die to get in again
We are so far from youBurning on just like a match you strike to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what's the worst you take
From every heart you break
And like the blade you stain
Well, I've been holding on tonightWhat's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnightCame a time
When every star fall brought you to tears again
We are the very hurt you soldAnd what's the worst you take
From every heart you break
And like the blade you stain
Well, I've been holding on tonightWhat's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnightAnd if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnightCan you hear me?
Are you near me?
Can we pretend
To leave and then
We'll meet again
When both our cars collide. What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnightAnd if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long and goodnight"You were lightly gripping Gerard's shirt with your teddy bear between the two of you and fast asleep. Gerard smiled and kissed your forehead. He then laid back down and pulled the covers over you both. "Goodnight little sister."
