Wake up, its 8'o clock already . You need to hurry, the car will be here anytime. Long and straight black shiny hair, a skinny body with a light complexion, my mom, is really happy because I will be the first one in the family who is going to live in the city.

East Village is a neighborhood in San Diego, California, United States. It is the largest urban neighborhood in downtown San Diego. It is located east of the Gaslamp Quarter and southeast of the Core district and Cortez Hill in downtown San Diego.

I'll be living with my aunt in San diego. My aunt is a woman with wrinkled face, grey short hair and has a tongue of sweet words. Mrs. Marie as she was called.

Katherine ...Kat , your aunt is here hurry up and get ready. I could see extreme excitement in my mom's eyes. "Kat is going...yeahhh she is going to live in the city." " Give me a break Betty, it's no big deal it's just a matter of few months. So you don't need to be so happy about this okay."
Betty is my younger sister who is just 13. A girl with great enthusiasm and extreme guts who can never imagine her life without me as she has no friends around except for a little shabby puppy that she picked up from a trash bin.

Good morning sweetheart!!
Morning, aunt Marie.
Are you all ready to depart?
Her question made my body to shiver for no reason. Was I scared? Or was I not ready to face the real world. I had no idea but I knew that now my life will be a happening one.

By evening we reached the city. As expected the city was way different than the village. The place looked more clean and beautiful than the village.
There was much hustle and bustle there.
Aunt Marie's house was not that big one but way better than that of the village. She had a small garden where she grew cabbages. The house had four rooms.
Aunt Marie's husband and children had died in a car accident five years back. I wonder how she lived all alone in this house with those memories. Since their death she hadn't mentioned them much. But i always thought her silence was just a way of hiding her grievance.
My room was upstairs , the walls of the room were full of posters of different wrestlers some of which i recognized and some were all new for me . I thought it must have been her son's room.
"Sorry dear I didn't get time to clear all this . I hope you don't mind them . If you want you can get rid of those", said aunt marie.
"No it's fine. I like it this way."
Her gloomy face told me that she still missed them. But I thought it was better to stay quiet.
"The dinner will be ready soon , freshen up and come downstairs". Saying this she left.

Through my window I could see the the dark sky. The stars in the sky were nonexistent, as between the stars and me arose puffs of gray clouds. Those balls of cotton which i had seen during the day shifted into streams of gray, the color of ash and soot. They blanketed the sky, hiding the full moon in it's full glory behind them. But the moon fought, oh how it fought to shine it's light on the earth. But the clouds stretched over the sky, giving it a hazy ominous feel. However it was beautiful.

"Did you like the food sweety? ",asked Aunt Marie. We had had our dinner sitting on a small dining table in the hall. We didn't talk much during the meal.
"Yeah, it was delicious."
"Tomorrow by 8 a.m. I'll leave for work. Your breakfast will be ready and would be kept in the refrigerator."
"By what time will you be back?"
"Most probably by 6 p.m. If you want you can go out and explore the city but not too far okay" replied my aunt.
"Mmmm.. Yea don't worry , I'll be in touch."
"Okay. Have fun"

All of sudden there was pin drop silence. Well that was nothing new. Nights in village were too a silent one except for the snorting and neighing of the horses.

Through the window I could hear the risings and fallings of a conversation being held on a porch near the corner, chatting and yapping and playing and shrieking; a car passed on the street, a motorcycle snarled.
The roaring sound of a motorcycle revving on the other side of the cemetery intruded like a profanity.

"Betty!", I shouted as i searched for betty. There, lying in on the kitchen floor behind the counter was she, my sister Betty. She had been murdered and blood poured out of her body.
I screamed at the sight and took betty in my arms crying for help. I cried my lungs out . I moved the lifeless body of my sister which had now been covered by blood from head to toe. I hoped she would wake up and tell me it was a joke or a prank. I thought how would mom react. I cried....
"We meet again," a voice said interrupting my crying.

I could not see the face of the creature because of the dark and without any thought I started blabbering,"Please, please, don't kill me. I'll do whatever you want. I'll give you all  I have."
I thought to myself HE KILLED MY SISTER....

"Too late," the killer said probably having an evil smirk across his face because thats what i had seen in movies and magazines and the thought of the same thing happening to me scared me to death.
"It's your turn to die." He laughed and i saw him pointing his gun towards me.
And SHOOT...

Then I suddenly woke up to sound of my alarm with sweat all over my face. I still wasn't back in the real world . "Shit," i thought to myself . "What was that nightmare about?". Everything seemed so scary . Good thing it was only a dream. I wiped the sweat off my forehead and sat up in my bed.
"I need to stop seeing my family photograph right before bed," I joked to myself. I looked at the clock. The time was 3:00a.m. Then i began to think,
"What if that wasn't a just a dream, but a warning."
