I woke. It was peaceful in the hospital. Jack was slumped over the couch, snoring quietly. I would be happy any other time seeing him- except he lied to me.

Who knows, maybe everyone lied to me.

Very gently and quietly, I removed the I.V. And other cords that they attached to my arms and legs. It was time for me to get out of here. For some reason, deep down within my gut, I have a feeling that this wasn't  the first time they had done this to me.

I swing my legs over the side of the bed and stand up. There was a window right beside where Jack was sleeping on the couch.

Lovely, I grumble in my head. Now I'll never escape!

Yes you will.. it was the voice from earlier, except it was speaking in a much gentler tone now. Just quietly open the window and I'll help you out from there.

I sigh and quietly maneuvered my way behind the couch, opening the window. A cool, gentle breeze flows inside. I smile at how calm and peaceful it was outside. It was a beautiful night.

"What the hell," I froze. I had gotten so lost in feeling the nice fresh air against my face that I had completely forgotten about Jack.

We need to go, now! The voice in my head practically screams. I hear Jack toss off the blankets that he was laying under and started panicking.

I jumped up on the small window sill. Peering down, fear rises up inside of me. I was higher up than I thought I was. There was no way I would be able to jump and survive.

You are a creature of the night, indestructible- yet you're scared of a small jump?

Um.. No. I'm Mark and I'll die if I jump. Jack groans behind me as the wind picks up slightly.

Listen, I won't lie to you unlike those back-stabbers. Just trust me okay? You need to jump otherwise you'll be miserable as hell here. You're a creature of the night, you travel alone. You don't need them.

Fine. I sigh. But if I survive this, you have a lot of explaining to do. Like for example, how'd you even get in my head?

Deal. Now just-

"Mark, What're you doing? Get down from there!" Jack screams. Suddenly the lights in the room start to turn on, followed by footsteps. My heart pounds in my throat. There was only one thing left that I could do; jump.

And that's exactly what I did.
