Fear is like fire,
It starts small,
Festers,
Fed by anxiety,
And when not put out,
It consumes you,
Leaving you empty of everything but fear itself,
It burns,
Filling every part of you like smoke,
Clouding your judgement,
Fogging your decisions,
Pulling you down,
Killing you slowly and painfully,
Piece by piece destroying you,
Once your in you can't get out,
You stumble about,
Unsure of what's happening,
All you know is your doomed,
You're stuck,
This feeling grows,
Your heart weakens from strain,
It's drumming is the only thing you can hear,
Your eyes shut attempting to block it out,
It doesn't work,
You know it's there,
Inside you,
So yes,
Fear is like a fire,
And I am burned.
