What is love? The dictionary says that's it is a strong attraction to someone or something. But it's not. It's more.

Love is holding hands under school desks. Kisses in the dark or when nobody is watching. The feeling of your heart beating when you hear their laugh or the electricity in their touch. The smile that spreads across your lips when you hear their name. The fluttery feeling you get when you see them or the nervousness when you feel their hand in yours.

But love is also dangerous. It's that drawing feeling. That not being able to let go. Not being able to let go of an abusive partner. The draw to drugs or the pull to alcohol.

Love can drive us. To score the last goal in a match, to move great distances to the one you love, or fight for your country and your people, it can drive us to write poetry or to paint murals or compose symphonies.

Without love we wouldn't be driven, we wouldn't be compassionate or creative. It would be easy to forget, easy to slaughter, easy to let go of everything in a selfish attempt to escape your problems.

Love is more than attraction, it's passion.
