...
We ran to the car and jumped in. Mark started the car and reversed out the driveway as quickly as possible.
“Stay calm. It's okay. We’ll be there as fast as possible just give me directions.” Mark said at a stop sign.
I was thinking about so many things in my head. I was holding in my cry and quietly said to turn left after the next intersection. After he took the left I told him to turn the next right than the house is going to be at the end of the dead end. I looked at Mark and he was focused strongly on the road. He pulled up in the driveway and I said thank you as Ava and I gathered our things and rushed to be in the house. I didn't bother taking off my shoes and immediately opened the door.
“Aunty we're home.” I yelled.
“Come please.” I heard her in the living room.
I grabbed Ava’s hand and ran to the living room. I found Aunty with Dad and Victoria sitting on the ground with all of our family pictures.
“What’s happening?” Questioned Ava.
“Just sit.” Victoria whispered with no sas, no rudeness, no anything other than watery eyes.
She said it like how any other person would of had said it but she whispered it. We both sat down confused about everything.
“Do you know what happened to mom?” Victoria asked me silently.
“Dad said that she moved to the mainland to be as far away from us as possible.” I answered still confused.
“WELL DAD'S WRONG! HE LIED TO YOU AND AVA.” she yelled with tears coming from her eyes. She calmed down and continued saying,”Your whole thought of mom is wrong.”
Victoria left the room and headed outside. I heard the front door open and slam shut.
“Dad you lied to us?” Ava whispered looking at him.
“I did.” He answered with tears in his eyes.
“What did you lie about?” I questioned with a little anger.
“Tell them Ryan. Tell them what you have been hiding for all these years.” Aunty spoke.
Everyone’s attention turned to dad.
-Dad’s POV-
Everyone stared at me waiting for what I was going to say.
“I lied to you guys about your mom. You know how she was really sick that one time and we took her to the hospital and I told you guys that she had to stay at the hospital just to take some medicine, she actually had to stay because she had … cancer.” I said with tears rolling down my cheek.
I can’t believe that I actually told them…
“Why didn’t you tell us? WHY DAD!” Hazel said. “Why should I believe anything you say now. Come on let’s go.” She said to Ava.
“You don’t want to hear the rest?” I asked quietly.
“Actually we don’t because we know the rest of the story. Mom died and you didn’t say anything to us. Then you just made up how mom went to the mainland.”
“No that’s not all.” I said. “When she died she wanted to keep all of this from you guys. She told me and Victoria not to tell you guys because she thought you guys would be more depressed. Why? I don’t know why but that’s what she thought was right and I respected her. So I did what she said. So I told Victoria to be mean to the both of you guys because she really wanted you guys to know and I thought if she was still nice to you guys she would tell you guys.  I should of had told you guys this earlier but I was scared. I still love and care about you guys. Can you please forgive me?” I begged.
“I don't know dad. Can I forgot you for what you did? Maybe I can't forgive you now, maybe I can't forgive you ever. But you know what I can do right now, right now what I can do is to be as far away from you as possible just like your lie you told us. I want to be as far from you as possible.” Hazel said still crying then left with Ava.
“Did I really do the wrong thing?” I said out loud.
“Because of what you did I don't think that this family will ever be the same again. Thanks a lot Ryan. Now get out and leave Victoria.” Darla said.
I slowly got up and walked to the front door. I went outside and headed to my car. That's when I saw Hazel and Victoria going into a car with a boy. I was about to say something but I just didn't want to upset Hazel more. I went into my car and thought about all of my memories I had with Lily. I miss her.
“Why…” I cried.
-Mark’s POV-
I didn’t know if I had to wait or to go. I decided to text Hazel if I needed to wait for her and Ava but I saw them running out the door and coming my way. They jumped in and got settled.
“Just drive. I don't care where we go right now I just want to get away.” Hazel said with tear stained cheeks and an upset look.
Without a word I started the car and reversed. I drove to a park and parked the car.
“Let's have a walk.” I said to Hazel. “You can come also Ava.”
“I’m okay I’ll just stay in the car.”Ava replied quietly.
I nodded then opened the door of the car. Hazel did the same. We got to the sidewalk and started to walk.
“Are you okay?” I asked with worry.
There was silence but Hazel finally answered, “No I’m not okay.”
Then she started to cry. We stopped walking and I pulled her into my body.
“It’s okay cry it all out.”
“M-my dad lied to me and everything… m-my sister didn’t even tell me… m-my mom…. died.” Hazel mumbled in my shoulder.
“Shhh, quiet. You don’t need to speak.” I said comforting her.
We stood there hugging each other for like streat 5 minutes but soon after she her cry was calming down.
“You wanna sit and talk about it?” I asked
Hazel just nodded wiping her tears. We walked till we found an empty bench that we can sit on and had a sat.
“Start from the beginning now. Don’t need to add any details.” I said.
“Okay so it all started with Victoria stating that my dad lied about something then she left with my dad telling me that he lied about my mom dieing from this cancer. That's it.”
“Hey look at me.” I said and Hazel looked at me. “Thank you for telling me and I know I probably can't help you with anything but I can get you guys ice cream.” I said giving her a little grin. "Ice cream always makes me feel better."
She giggled then answered,“That would be great.”
We stood up and walked back to the car. Once we got to the car we saw Ava looking like a depressed dog.
We hopped in the car and I asked Ava,“You wanna get ice cream?”
Her face immediately lit up.
“Yes!” she said with a smile on her face. Then she got all shy and added,“Please.”
I nodded my head then turned the car on. I turned on the radio and one of my favorite songs came on.
“Hey this is my favorite song!” exclaimed Hazel.
“This is my favorite song too!” I said.
Then we both started singing along to the song together. She started to look more happy now and because of that I was more happy. We all continued to sing along to the songs that played on the radio. I pulled up to a ice cream shop that was right around the corner. We got out of the car and raced to the door. I got to the door first and opened it for Ava and Hazle. When they entered I followed behind entering the small shop. There were thousands of tubs filled with colorful flavors.
“Ugh what do I want?” Ava grumbled.
“I think she is more addicted to ice cream more than to cigarettes.” Hazel whispered to me.
I just laughed. When Ava was finally ready we ordered our ice creams. I payed and we waited patiently.
“Thank you so much for this we really needed it.” said Hazel.
“I’m very grateful for Mark right now people! He’s a fricken lightsaber!” Ava said quite loudly. “Oh I mean life saver.” she added laughing.
“I’m just glad you guys are happy again.” I replied smiling. "I don't like it when my friends are looking like sad dogs."
They laughed.
Our ice cream cones were ready so we grabbed them and sat on a bench outside. We just sat there eating our ice creams for a good 3 minutes and I decided to break the silence.
“Why did you choose those flavors?” I asked.
“I choose mines because they just spoke to me. They called my name like,“Ava come, come here.” and they also screamed too. Like this,“PICK ME AVA!! PICK ME!” So you know I just had to choose these flavors.” Ava explained.
We all just started laughing.
“Okay then.” Hazel said wiping her tears away from her eyes. “I choose these flavors because they are my all time favorite.”
“Same here.” I said.
Everyone continued to eat their ice cream until it was finished. Once we all finished it we threw away our napkins and hopped back into the car.
“So what is our next stop?” I asked.
“Umm, what time is it?” asked Hazel.
I checked my watch then said,“3:26.”
“Are they all still at your house?” Ava asked this time.
“Yup.” I answered.
“Let’s go there!” Both Hazel and Ava said at the same time.
We all laughed then I started the car to drive back to my house. We talked about school and homework most of the ride back. Soon after we reached my house and we all got out the car. We walked to the front door and I tried to open it but it was locked.
“That’s funny. I don’t remember locking the door.” I said.
I knocked and rang the doorbell a few times.
“Are they death or something?” I questioned scratching my head in confusion. “I don’t have the key ether. I left it on my other lanyard.” I stated.
“How are we going to get in?” Ava asked.
“I’ll call them.” Hazel said.
Hazel walked away to talk to JB. I continued to knock on the door and also ring the doorbell. Hazel came back and said that no one answered their phones.
“I guess we have to climb through a window then.” I said.
We walked around the house trying to find a way in and we finally found a window low enough for us to reach so that we could climb in. I grabbed a step stool that was near by and set it underneath the window. I stepped ontop the stool and opened the window. I jumped in first then I helped Ava climb in and finally Hazel jumped up and pulled herself up. When I was helping Hazel she accidentally lost her balance and almost fell back but I was strong enough to pull her into my grasp. We stood there holding on to each other for a while because Hazel was shaking like crazy. She must've been scared of the incident that just happened so I was calming her down by whispering in her ear that it was going to be okay.
“Okay stop with the lovey dovey grossness and let’s get going.” Ava said annoyed.
I quickly let Hazel out of my grasp and we exited the room to look for those bastards that locked us out. We walked to the living room but no one was there. We started to walk upstairs and that’s when we heard noises coming from one of the rooms. We shushed each other and tiptoed to each door listening carefully. The last door we checked had the noises. I put my hand onto the doorknob and with my fingers I counted backwards from three. When I reached zero I twisted the doorknob fast and pushed the door opened. Me, Hazel and Ava jumped into the room making lots of noise. Everyone in the room screamed in fright. Their faces was so ridiculous I wished I had a camera.
“We got you guys good.” Ava said laughing.
“You should have seen your guys faces.”Hazel said also laughing.
I just dropped to the ground because it was so funny. After we all laughed I stood up then attacked all of them.
“Why the heck did you guys lock the door if you guys knew that I didn’t have the right set of keys?” I asked.
“If you get off of us then we would tell you guys.” BamBam begged.
“No! If you don’t tell us then I will never coming off!” I said laughing.
“Ugh fine. We’ll tell you.” BamBam said out of breath.
“We all can’t breath because you’re on us!” Shouted JB.
“Oh someone is getting angry.” I said as I got off off of them.
The girls in the back was also laughing. Then they started getting quiet because JB was looking right at them with a steamy face.
“Okay so why?” I asked again.
“I truly didn’t know who locked the door but all I know is that Junior didn’t do it because he was with me playing a game on the Wii.” said Youngjae.
“I was working on homework.” said Jackson.
“I was practicing a dance combo I learned last week.” said Yugyeom.
“I was staring at the ceiling.” BamBam laughed.
“I was just on my phone waiting for you guys to come back.” JB said.
“So who did it?” I asked again.
“Everyone was doing something else other than locking the door.” BamBam wined.
“Mostly everyone was believable.” I said laughing in the inside. “Sorry bamBam but I think that you did it.”
“Why would I have done it?”questioned BamBam.
“Umm, I think it’s because you said that you was staring at the ceiling.” Hazel giggled.
“Okay fine I did it.” He admitted.
“I locked it because, because… Jackson had to tell us something!”
Everyone, but Jackson, nodded in agreement."
“What was so important to tell them that you had to lock the door?” I asked him.
“It's a secret.” He simply said.
“Oh okay. Because it's a secret. I get it.” I said with sarcasm. “What’s the secret?”
No one answered.
“Okay then you’re making it harder for yourself.” I said staring at the rest of the boys.
With worried faces they all looked at Jackson.
“We have to talk in private.” Jackson said with a sigh.
The girls looked confused but Jackson and I stood up and exited the room. We went downstairs to talk in the kitchen.
“So what is this secret all about.” I said being impatient.
“It’s about you and Ava.” Jackson said worried.
“What about us?” I said raising my voice.
“We think that you already have fallen for her.” He added.
“But I can’t remember!” I shouted. “I know what I feel and I haven’t. I will never feel that way again.”
I walked out the kitchen and back upstairs. I'm honestly upset that they keep on saying that I have fallen for her when I obviously didn't. It's starting to get irritating. I opened the door to the room that they were in.
“Welcome back.” BamBam said with a cheerful voice.
I walked into the room with no reply.
“You okay?” Junior asked concerned.
“He’s fine.” answered Jackson as he walked into the room.
I walked to sit in a empty seat in the room and pulled out my phone. I am not in a mode to talk to anyone right now.
I opened my phone and there was a missed call from a unknown number. I stood up and walked to the door.
"I'll be back." I simply said and walked outside to the living room.
Ring...Ring...Ring
"Hello? Who is this?" I asked.
"I'm back Mark."
