...
We reached the class late so all the attention was on us again.
"Why are you guys late?" Mrs. Fran asked.
"I'm sorry we had to help the librarian put back the books we knocked over and we forgot to get a pass. We deeply apologize." Mark said out of nowhere.
"Good job." I whispered.
"I'll let it slide this time but if you don't get a pass next time it'll be detention for the both of you."
"Yes Mrs. Fran." We both said and headed to our seats.
"Now open your books to page 156. Read to the end of the chapter and when you're finished reading you can come and grab a worksheet from the front. If you don't finish the worksheet in class then it'll be for homework. You may start now." Mrs. Fran said before heading to her desk.
I started to read then I felt something hit me. I saw a crumpled piece of paper on the floor and grabbed it. I undid the paper and flattened it out.
Lookup.
I looked up and there was Mark looking at me. He winked really fast before anyone could see and quickly turned back to reading. I smiled and went back to reading too. I finished the chapter and walked to the front to grab a worksheet. When I walked past Mark's desk he stuck out his leg so that I would tumble forward. I didn't fall because I regained my balance. I looked at him and he just pretended like nothing happened. I continued to walk back to my seat in peace after then sat down to work on the worksheet. I finished it with ten minutes of the school day to spare. I walked up and gave the teacher my worksheet and walked back. I sat down again and just looked around the room. I spotted Mark's hand come up. Oh no.
"Yes Mark." Mrs. Frank said not looking up from her computer.
"I need help with the worksheet."
"Go ask one of your classmates that have finished." She said.
Oh no. This is bad. I was the only one done with the worksheet. So I pretended to be busy doing something so he wouldn't come but he came straight to me. He pulled up a extra seat and had a sat right next to me.
"What are you doing?" I whispered.
"I need help." He said.
"Which questions do you need help on?" I asked looking away.
"Look for yourself." He said pushing his paper to me.
I looked at it and there were red circles on certain words.
"What is this?" I asked.
Mark just looked away. I guess it was like a little puzzle so I read all the red circled words in order.
Let's go slow. I want to get to know you better first. Plus I'm not ready yet.
I smiled. I'm glad he wanted to go slow. I searched for the words okay me too
and circled it in red and handed his paper back to him. He took it and smiled.
"Thanks for helping me." He said out loud before heading back to his desk.
I smiled and laughed a little. The bell rang and I gathered all my things. I saw Mark heading my way so I stood up and waited for him.
"Shall we go?" He asked.
"We shall." I said laughing.
He put his arm on my shoulders again and we headed out the door. We walked all the way to the front crosswalk.
"Well I have to catch the bus." He said looking like he didn't want to leave my side.
"I'll text you later." I said giving him a wink.
"Wow you're so disgusting." He laughed. "Okay then see you later." He added winking back.
"See you." I said laughing before walking to the front to meet Victoria and Ava.
"How was your day at school?" Victoria asked.
"Mines was better than expected." I said with a big smile.
"Something must have happened." Ava said hitting me.
"Did you call aunty?" I asked Victoria.
"How would I forget? You're the one who would probably forget." She said.
"Yeah you're probably right." I laughed.
"There she is." Ava said looking at the car that was driving in the entrance.
The car stopped right in front of us and we got in.
-Mark's POV-
I walked to the bus with a big smile. Today went better than expected. I'm not planning on dating her yet because I know that we both aren't ready.
"Why are you so happy? What happened?" Jackson asked as he followed me on the bus.
"Nothing happened. I'm just happy." I said walking down the aisle to the back of the bus.
I heard people whispering as I passed by.
"I wonder what everyone is whispering about?" Youngjae wondered as I sat by him so that I could ignore Jackson's questions.
Jackson sat by Junior and gave me a dirty look. I just smiled at him.
"You should ask one of them." I said putting my bag on my lap.
"Um excuse me what are you guys whispering about? I'm just curious." He asked the person in front of him.
The person whispered something in his ear and his eyes went big. He sat back down and he looked at me.
"Why are you looking at me?" I asked turning towards him.
He came closer to me and quietly asked, "Are you dating Hazel?"
Great this is the one question that I was trying to avoid.
"Nope. Those are just rumors." I said turning on my phone.
"Then why did you have your arm on her shoulders all day today?"
"My arm was tired all day."
He took my phone and asked, "Why?"
I sighed and the bus started to move.
"I told her that I want to be closer to her." I said softly.
"So you confessed?!"
"Well kind of."
"What did she say?!" He said a little too loudly even though the wind from the window was washing out most of the volume.
"First you need to talk softer and she said that she wanted to be closer too."
"So you guys are dating!" He said softer.
"No we're not dating."
"Why?"
"We're not ready yet. End of conversation." I said.
The bus pulled up to our stop and all of us got off. After BamBam hopped off, the bus drove off.
"Can we go to you house Mark?" JB asked.
"Why is it always my house?" I whined.
"Because your house is the closest." Junior said.
"True. Let me call my mom first to see if it's okay with her." I said taking my phone from Youngjae.
I pressed the call button on my mom's contact and put the call on speaker.
Ring...Ring...Ring
"Hello?" Mom said.
"Hi mom. Could the boys come over?" I asked.
"Please." They all begged.
"Of course. Please come over all Mark does is lock himself in his room after school so please come."
"Thank you aunty." That all said.
Beep
"Okay let's go." Jackson said.
"When we reach the house Mark has to tell you guys something very important right." Youngjae said hiding behind Jackson.
"Youngjae!" I yelled trying to grab his shirt but Jackson stopped me.
"What does he mean by 'something very important'?" Jackson asked.
"I'll tell all of you guys when we get to my house." I said continuing to walk.
"Fine." Jackson said following.
We soon reached my house and I opened the front door. After everyone entered I followed and closed the door.
"Hi mom." I said when I saw her in the living room.
"You guys can go inside of the extra room." she said before she took a sip of her coffee.
"Go inside of the extra room!" I yelled to the boys as I ran upstairs.
I saw them enter the extra room and I entered after. They got settled in the couches and chairs. After I sat down they all looked at me. I looked back at them.
"Um we are waiting." Jackson said.
"Oh yeah. That's right." I said realizing that I was going to tell them what happened when we reached the house.
"Have you heard of the rumors?" I started
"Nope." They all said.
"Youngjae please tell them whatever that person on the bus told you." I said.
He nodded and whispered something into Jackson's ear. From Jackson it spreaded to the rest of them. They all stared at me with big eyes.
"The rumor isn't true." I said before anyone could say something.
They all looked disappointed after what I said.
"But Youngjae also told us that your arm was on her shoulders all day long today." BamBam said.
"Yes that is true but we aren't dating."
"Then why did you put your arm on her arm?" Junior asked.
Youngjae gave me a look telling me to to say that stupid excuse.
"Well I did it because... I wanted to tell her that I want to be closer to her."
"So you confessed!" They all said at once.
"Yes."
"What did she say?!" They all said in sync again.
"Okay first y'all don't need to be yellin at me. I'm right here and second she wanted to get closer too."
"So you guys are dating." Jackson said.
"No we we aren't."
"But why?"
"We're just taking it slow." I said.
"How did you confess?" Youngjae asked.
"You guys don't need to know that much." I said before grabbing my phone off the table.
"Please." They all begged.
"Why do you guys want to know anyways?" I asked.
"Because all this time you were so strict about not getting a girlfriend but you fricken confessed to a girl." Yugyeom said.
"Okay I see your point." I said.
So I told them how I confessed to her.
"Good job." Jackson told me giving me a thumbs up.
"You were much smarter than me." I heard Yugyeom mumble.
"Well you should start heading home before it gets too late." I said looked at the clock.
"Well see you tomorrow then." JB said standing up.
"Bye." I said as they all walked out the room.
After they closed the door I jumped over the table to the couch and immediately grabbed my phone.
[Me] hey ;)
[Hazel] I told u to not wink. It's disgusting
[Me] well u did it
[Hazel] but it isn't disgusting when I do it because I'm like totally awesome
[Me] Okay, yup.
[Hazel] well I should be awesome because u seem to like me
[Me] I wouldn't use the word awesome to describe u tho

[Me] did u tell ur sisters
[Hazel] no. did u tell the boys
[Me] yeah well they technically begged me to tell them
[Hazel] well I hope they keep their freakin mouths shut
[Me] I wont let that happen
We texted until my mom called me down for dinner. I sat at the table and began to eat.
"So who were you texting?" Mom asked.
"Is it that girl who is helping you? Maybe you should invite her over for dinner one day." Dad said.
"I wasn't texting her and we are not going to invite her over." I said panicking a little.
"What? A girl?!" Joey said coming down stairs.
"She only helps me with school. That's it." I said being calm.
Well trying to be calm.
"Okay then. We'll see about that." He said pulling out his chair.
"Aren't you going to college?" I asked Tammy to change the subject.
"Just mind about your own business." She said not even looking at me.
"Okay then." I said focusing back to my food.
The rest of dinner was a conversation about random things but I wasn't apart of any of it. I'm not complaining. I finished whatever was left on my plate and put it in the sink. I thanked mom for the dinner before heading upstairs to take a shower. After my shower I walked to my room. I closed the door and turned on the light. I noticed how bright the moon was when I glanced at the window. So I walked over to my desk which was right in front of the window. Then I folded my arms and rested my head on them. I hope I can start dating Hazel soon. I want her to be comfortable first. After staring at the moon for a while my eyes started to get heavy and I drifted off to sleep.
