//Dae//
"Don't think I didn't see you... Dae." The man spoke knowingly, leaning against the counter.
I squeezed my eyes shut, hoping I could just disappear from the moment, though it wouldn't help at all. The steady pace of his breathing became prominent as the slight silence filled the room before the next song from the playlist began sounding through the store speakers again.
I pulled my index finger up to my lips, in indication for Justin to stay quiet and let me talk. I carefully hopped up from my previous crouched position.
"I'm sorry Sir, I dropped something. Is there anything I can get you from the display case?" I asked him, hoping he wouldn't have actually been interested in any of the items. I looked down at it, seeing that it was a mirrored case. Thank goodness it was. If it was glass all around, that would have given Justin and I straight away.
"You aren't hiding are you Dae?" He smiled mischievously.
"Not exactly, uh, I work here." I said quickly, my eyes automatically darting to the woman. She nodded to the man as he turned to her for approval.
"Uh huh." He sighed. "You haven't seen Justin at all have you?" He asked me. Tempted to look down at him, I shook my head, displeasing the man.
"So it's true that you really have broken up? It doesn't look like you are too devastated." He scoffed.
"Well, let me ask you something. What does it look like to you? I mean I was the one who broke it off. I don't mean to be pushy but I should get back to work. But thanks for stopping in." I said plainly as I fiddled with a small basket of stationary sets.
With a quite disatisfied look upon the mans face, he took one more glance around the store before stepping out the door. A few members that belonged tto his group crowded about the entrance as he exited before he spoke to them. Unaudible to my ears as the door finally closed, a few words were exchanged between them before their glances shot back to me.
One man grimaced before they finaly disappeared from view.
"That was seriously too close. Justin, you have to be super careful, we can't go out in public like before, you do realize that, right?" I said, the same questionable look on my face as I searched his eyes, immediately giving me an answer. His words weren't needed as he looked into my eyes.
"I know, but it's so hard to stay away."
"I know babe. But it's to protect us, You know that. You're the one who told me..." I informed him.
"Okay. I got it. I know, I know." He laughed weakly, bringing my hand to his cheek before he inhaled deeply,
"I understand why you were doing this in the first place." I said, forcing his eyes to mine.
"We'll lay low. If we want to hang out, it will either be at your place or mine, but other than that, nothing public." He spoke, the words breaking each piece of my heart.
"You two sound like you are in deep trouble." The womans hand met Justin's shoulder before she threw a sympathetic smile.
"Mhmm." Justin hummed before his eyes met mine.
"I've been in a similar situation when I was younger, I know how it is. But you'll get through it." She spoke before disappearing back into the stock room of her store.
I walked him to the store entrance, his arms wrapping around me.
I watched as a shadow appeared on the other side of the glass, behind the shades before Ryan was visible through the glass. He pointer to his watch before reaffirming that the coast was clear.
