Marinette's POVLord Gabriel Vanished in a literal puff of smoke before returning as a different man. He had orange hair and deep purple eyes that were unatural. A unshaven beard told me that he hadn't been in this form for a long time, and the top of his his head said that he stresses over everything by it's baldness. Years have not been kind to him.
The crowd gasped at his new appearance, and fueled their anger even more. From what I could tell, Adrien knew the whole story behind this man, and if he knew, I didn't need to know. I trust my husband unconditionally.
Trying to swing my sword at him, he dodged out of the way at a blinding speed. "I will not be beat! I have worked to hard to get were I am! People of Paris follow me as your King!"
The response was glares. Glares of workers, husbands, wives, teens, and even kids. We may not have won the war, yet, but we won over the people. Then, all at once, they started screaming in revolt.
"We will never follow you!"
"You're a monster!"
"You are no king!"
Anthony's face grew panicked, and he wildly looked around in a desperate haste fro anyone that would follow him. Adrien and I sprung into action, leaping into the air and bring both our swords down upon him. His reaction time was slow, and our swords embedded themselves into both his arms. He cried out in pain, and growled at us. Not a human, mad growl, but a growl of an animal. "It wasn't suppose to end this way!" He scream to the sky. "You promised me Hawkmoth! You promised I'd have my revenge! Sarah was suppose to be mine! But that stupid Lord took her away from me!"
"That's my family you're taking about!" Adrien yelled in rage, impaling Anthony's side with sword. I too, then bring my sword down onto him again. Anthony was to scared and frantic to even use his powers. We all fell to the ground from where we were flying. The villagers rushed over to continue watching the fight. Anthony was on the ground trying to swing his bloody fist at me or Adrien. Fatigue hit him hard as he grovelled to his hands and knees, but still tried to grab at my feet. Raising the moon sword over my head, I prepared myself to strike.
But I couldn't. I couldn't take away his life like he probably did with so many others. I know what he has done, yet I can't bring myself to do it. All my life my mother, father and friends have taught me, "Be kind and everything would be fine."
Well it didn't work out. I was kind, but things didn't,t always work out. I knew for a fact I couldn't kill this man, no matter how evil he was. I was to kind a soul to do it.
For a moment it was me and him, staring at each other. The color drained from his face and his breath was shallow. His eyes flickered colors from purple to blue before they turned blue all together.
"Please."
Here in front of he w as a broken man, pleading for his death. For me to put an end to him. His man was driven by his feelings and then let them go, but before that a dark power took control of him. He wanted to be free of that power.
"We could save you." I whisper, plead him not to make me kill him.
"There's no saving me."
Tears where streaming down my face, and my stomach was churning from all the blood on him. I didn't want to do this. I didn't want to end his life when I knew his actions weren't his.
Adrien magically appear by my said, probably hearing anything, and turned my head with his hand to look at him. He gave me a sad smile as he took my hand that help the sword in his palm. Both our swords merged into one while shining brightly as the eclipse on the day we wed. I rested my head against his shoulder, terrified about what he was trying to help me through. The muscles in my and Adrien's arms slacked and the sword went crashing down. I don't dare to look at Anthony's body, my stomach wouldn't allow me to.
Adrien held me tightly as he rested his hand on my adomin as he whisper sweet nothings in my ear.
"I'm so glad you both are alive."
The rest of the day was a blur. I'm they celebrated, and thanked us, but I couldn't remember. At one point I'm sure Aliya should me she became a witch and I was so happy, but she could tell I was physically and emotionally drained.
During the middle of the party I started swaying back and forth, and that was when my husband decided it was time to rest. He carried me bridal style into what I believed to be his old home, and laid me on one of the comfy beds.
"I love you."
I didn't get to reply before sleep came over me.
