"Ms Walker, due to the ADD shown on your testing results you will no longer be allowed in The Society. We have no place for your kind here, I'm so sorry." The Judge called out. I could hear the murmurs of the audience behind me, and a quiet cry from my mother, I wasn't going to look back, not now. I can't look into the eyes of my family.

"Your honour, Ms Walker has shown an outstanding performance in her testing otherwise. She is top of her grade in every school she's been to, is there any way that this test result was faulty." My Pledger said she was fighting for me I could tell. But even I knew it was a lost cause, the test results are almost never faulty. But I would be lying if I wasn't hoping I would be in that .001 percent of the testing results that had been unprofessionally tampered with.

"I'm sorry but, the signs of the imperfection were too large. And even if they weren't you know they wouldn't be overlooked." The Judge quickly responded, he didn't even glance at the results again. That was it.

"Ms Walker, you have twenty-four hours to gather your belongings. At 800 hours a guard will meet you at your place of living and escort you to the wall. The case of Olivia Margret Walker has been closed." Then he stood up and walked out. I felt like I had just been kicked repeatedly in the chest, I was dizzy and my throat stung. My Pledger turned to me but before she could say anything I picked up my bag and ran. I didn't know where I was going but I didn't stop until I was out of the courthouse, past the workers and into the woods. Tears streaming down my face as I ran.

I didn't want to believe it, my life was here, everyone and everything I knew and loved was going to be ripped away from me. I was going to live as an outlander, beyond the wall, beyond the protection of the Society. My mind wasn't perfect, I was flawed, and because of those things, I couldn't be here anymore. But before any more thought could run through my mind, I tripped over a root. I landed face-first into the mud, getting a mouthful of dirt and decaying leaves.
