"Why did you drag me into this?" Ava said as she facepalmed.
"You're the one who gave in!" I said, shoving her slightly in the shoulder.
Ava shoved back at me and I ran to the beach. Ava sprinted back up behind me.
"WAIT!"
"What?"
I turned to face her. She caught up to me and pointed to my neck.
"Your fin is not stable for the waters, I didn't put the water-proof adhesive onto it."
I gave her a funny look. "Why didn't you if you knew we were going to a water village?"
She rolled her eyes and smirked.
"I didn't have it, smart-allic. let's just return to the house and get it."
"No, you're going to the house and getting it. I'm not a baby, you don't have to take me everywhere you go." I said, pointing a finger towards her.
She rolled her eyes, "Fine, just don't do anything wierd."
"You already told me that."
Ava bit her lip.
"Maybe I shouldn't leave you alo-"
"NOPE! You're going on your own! I'll be fine!"
I started to push Ava in the direction of her house. She wiggled out of my grip and looked at me in the eye.
"I swear if you get caught, I will not help you."
"Seriously! I'll be fine!" I said, throwing my hands in the air.
She sighed and started to walk away. Only to turn back in my direction and give the 'I'm watching you' sign with her fingers.
I did the same back to her as she turned to walk back to the house.
Once she was out of my sight I turned the water.
"Ooooh boy, what the heck is happening to me." I said to myself.
I walked towards the water.
"It wouldn't hurt if I just waded in a little bit, would it?"
I stuck a foot in, the water instantly knocked me over as a wave crashed onto shore.
"Fudge nuggles."
I crawled out, checking to see it the fin was still there.
No.
I panicked. looking around I saw a building and I sprinted for it, gaining a few supicious glances.
"Go go go go go go go!" I sid to myself as the building approached.
I slipped behind the wall, breathing rapidly as I trie to catch my breath.
"Shilla?" Ava turned the corner.
"What are you doing?"
"Uhhhh...."
She looked at me and noticed that I was soaking and covered in sand.
She put her hands on her hips.
"You tried to swim, didn't you?"
I nodded, "A-and I lost the fin..."
Ava's eyes widened.
"We need to get you back to the house ASAP!"
She grabbed my arm and started lugging me towards the house, blocking my neck with her hand.
She shoved me inside the home and down to the basement.
"You are sooo lucky I have mdel fins." She said.
She rummaged through the kitchen cuboards.
"Ahh, here we go!"
She returned her gaze to me and set a life-like fin in front of me.
"I-is that real?!" I asked.
"Heavens no!" Ava yelped. "It's merely a silicone version!"
"Gooood..."
She huffed and walked around to my neck were she carefully glued the fin in place.
"There, now it is water-proof and much more realistic!"
She put her hands on her hips in admiration of her work.
"TO THE WATER!" I screamed, causing Ava to cover her ears.
"Fine, let's go..."
I practically sprinted to the area in which we were to meet.
"Oh, and be careful of the waves, they are at high tide today..." Ava said to me.
"Could've told me this sooner!" I snorted.
"Sorry! I didn't know you were going to break my rules!"
Let's just get in, pleeeease?"
"Sure, let's go."
