The blood stung Hide's eyes as it consumed his vision, the crimson blood overtaking his vision altogether. He felt weak, was it the blood loss? Was he scared? Either way it didn't matter, the Kaneki he thought he knew was in front of him but that slowly faded away as he lost consciousness.
Kaneki saw Hide pass out and the anger inside him grew way beyond his own control, Kaneki turned to the injured ghoul behind him. "You..." the air grew cold around them, his hatred had completely taken control. Yet his voice remained eerily still as he slowly spoke, "have no idea what you got yourself into." A sly smile crept unto Kens face, his kagune slowly rose from behind him and rested in the air awaiting its time to strike. Everything was still, it felt like time had stood still in that place- the only sound was the 'POP' of Kaneki's knuckles.
Then without so much as a breath Kaneki darted forward, directing his Kagune to the mans legs quickly knocking him down. As soon as the man hit the ground kaneki was already fifteen feet above him, the point of his red extension piercing downward. The man attempted to struggle and fight back, again wildly shooting his own Kagune around frantically. It was an attack out of sheer panic, there was no direction to it. It was sloppy and Ken could tell. it fed into his attack even more, "Why do you struggle so much? You're weak! You're weak and you hurt the only person dear to me! I'll show you what fear truly is."
Even in the dark a single tear could be seen leaving Kens eyes, somewhere deep inside of him he knew he also may hurt Hide, he knew at some point in time he may be having this duel with himself, and he wasn't sure he could handle that. Would Hide remember any of this? Would it matter to him? For all he knew this was it, after this Hide may not want anything to do with him, and its all because of this man.
What started with one stab, soon grew to two, ten, fifteen, over and over again. Kaneki wasn't attacking out of anger at the attacker anymore, he was more angry at whoever decided this should be his life. He was crying and sobbing uncontrollably as each stab punctured a new part of the mans body, but it would soon be interrupted. Kaneki heard voices and knew he needed to get out of there, he quickly attempted to regain composure and went over to Hide. He hastily picked him up and carried him in his arms, his wound didn't look very deep. He ripped off a sleeve of his own shirt and applied pressure then ran back to his apartment.
Once he arrived he unlocked the door and laid Hideyoshi on the sofa and addressed his wound. He gently removed the cloth from his eye and saw the cut was much smaller than it appeared, he grabbed disinfectant and a bandage and dressed the wound. Afterwards he made his bed and gently laid Hide in it, slowly tucking him in as to not wake him up.
'Maybe if he rests enough he'll think it all was a dream,' Ken thought to himself. He knew it wouldn't turn out that way though, the wound on his eye was enough proof that it happened regardless of how he remembers it. Ken went out of the room to get a change of clothes and to toss the clothes he had on, they were covered in blood and torn where his kagune appears. After a quick change of clothes, Ken gently lays in bed next to a sleeping Hide. He watches Hide sleep, his breaths are soft and even and Ken has a soft smile on his face. 'Can it really stay this way between us?' he asked himself. After it was all said and done all he had to do was wait for his best friend, and boyfriend to wake up and hope for the best. As Kaneki slowly drifted to a peaceful sleep, Hides dreams were riddled with questions and nightmares, reliving the scene over and over. Could he really live this way?
