The Mark of Athena

Chapter 4

Guys thanks sooo much for support on this story. I'm a boy so for me to talk trhough the eyes of some girls is really hard. Anyway the chapters from now on will be at most 2 pages because I'm not comfortable typing on my iPod and I only have short gaps in between my brothers getting back from school. Sorry that I spent so long on Jason but I wanted people to see his new sword in battle but as the day went on I just decided the chapter was getting kinda drawn out. As the story progresses I'll have to do a lot more action so expect maybe a chapter every 2 weeks if we're lucky.

Hazel

Hazel was soooo excited she was going to fight along-side some of the greatest heroes ever. Annabeth had asked her to find a suitable tunnel so that it wouldn't get flooded from the water in the trenches but still wasn't too far underground because they all needed to breath. It took her a minute to find a suitable tunnel.

"Before we do this I want to say not to touch any gold or treasure that pops up behind me, it's sacred to Pluto" Hazel lied.

"He's the god of the Underworld though" said Leo confused.

"In Rome he was the god of the Underworld and riches too" explained Percy.

After that they got into the tunnel and walked for a couple of minutes until they found a hole just big enough for a person to fit through but it was 15 feet above them, not even Annabeth had tought of this.

"I'll help everyone get up then I'll just fly up" said Jason.

It took them a minute but they were finally ready and the archers protected them while Frank got Hannibal and the 2 water cannons.

"Remember shoot a lightning bolt and me, Frank and Leo will run in to help" Percy reminded Jason.

"Can you take out their water cannons?" asked Jason.

"They're using them on the decoys, if we destroy them they'll notice us" replied Percy.

With that Piper, Hazel, Jason and Annabeth climbed onto Hannibal and steered him towards the wall and Percy, Leo, Frank and the archers took out the archers defending the wall. Luckily Hannibal was a big elephant so all they had to do was make it to the wall and climb on, or that's what should have happened but when they were half way to the wall the 20 Amazons came and Queen Hylla led them. They took out their bows and shot at Hannibal. And even though only 5 arrows hit he began to fall.

"They're using tranquiliser arrows, jump off" shouted Annabeth.

"Archers cover me, Frank and Leo" Percy shouted as he ran to help his friends.

Percy was beside his friends in a flash, after two seconds he had knocked down two Amazons and had helped Jason up. As Jason fended off three Amazons, Percy turned to face Hylla, he slashed and jabbed but Hylla stepped inside his sword and almost landed a blow which Percy diverted using a hurricane. Hylla stumbled away but four more took her place, Percy was almost overwhelmed but Hazel got up and knocked over one of the Amazons and a minute later Annabeth, Hazel, Piper, Leo and Frank were tying up the prisoners while Percy and Jason faced the last two Amazon fighters Kinzie and Hylla, Percy fought Hylla while Jason sapped Kinzie with his spear (only low voltage seeing as it was war games) but in a the blink of an eye Kinzie dipped inside his spear and pushed him over, he wanted to rejoin the fight but would have been blown away by Percy's hurricanes, all that they could do was watch as Percy fought two of the worlds best warriors by himself, when Percy almost bet one of them the other just stepped in, Percy was beginning to lose his advantage when he turned and ran.

"Guys I have an idea" he shouted as he ran towards the trench.

Come back here Percy" Kinzie shouted as she ran after him.

"Coward" Hylla shouted.

Percy jumped in the water and a second later huge fists of water formed, Hylla and Kinzie backed away but they were trapped to the front Percy, the archers and huge fists of water, to the back Jason, Annabeth, Piper, Leo and Frank.

"You two tie them up" Percy said to two of the archers.

"Now" Hylla shouted at the top of her voice, fifty warriors came, from an entrance that looked like part of the wall, the warriors were a mixture of Amazons and Roman.

"They new what we'd do" shouted Percy, "Get behind me."

Percy made a wall of water around to protect his friends.

"Hazel find us a tunnel so that we can pop out behind them" Annabeth ordered, "Piper, Hazel and I will go in the tunnel while you guys create a diversion, their castle will be virtually unprotected."

"How long do you need?" Percy asked.

"Fifteen minutes".

"Frank change into eagle form and attack them from above with Jason, Leo you heat the water for the cannons and help the archers fire them, I'll create some hurricanes and keep the archers busy" Percy ordered "And you three don't take too long."

Hazel found a tunnel that would come out of the ground about six feet from the Amazons then the three girls climbed down and ran along the tunnel, fortunately the Romans had forgotten to close the door so they were able to walk straight in. After a couple of minutes looking around they finally found the flag but it was guarded by ten Amazons.

"What do we do" whispered Piper.

"I put on my cap and turn invisible then I run in grab the flag and run back out hopefully with the element of surprise we'll have a big enough headstart to get away" Annabeth whispered back.

"And if we don't?"

"Then Hazel and I will hold them off while you run for the boundry in the tunnel".

After that Annabeth put on her cap and tip-toed in, she grabbed the flag and bolted out of the room.

"What happened to the flag" one of the Romans shouted.

The three girls didn't stick around to see what happened next they bolted towards the tunnel but someone was standing in the entrance to the tunnel, Reyna.

"I'll take care of her" Annabeth shouted as she passed the flag to Piper.

As Hazel and Piper ran in the tunnel Roman warrior caught up with them, he knew he couldn't take on both of them fairly so he dived at Piper, just before she reached the boundry,and she dropped the flag he picked it up and ran towards his allies. Just as he went to pass the flag to one of the Amazons an invisible hand grabbed the flag, Annabeth had beaten Reyna! Annabeth ran past Hazel and Piper and passed the boundry.

"We win" she shouted.
