I turned over in my covers, the suns rays shining through my window reflecting multiple patterns along my wallpaper, rainbows dotted over three of my four walls. Pulling the duvet over my head I shut out the bright light that awoke me, in hope I could return into the depths of my dream world. It was useless, I was awake now, I peeled back the corner of my duvet flinching as the cold air ran its way down my body. The clock next to my bed read 10am, yeah it's probably best I get up, I know I'm 22 but I do have actual work to get done. I'm sure the Mayor mentioned something about reviewing some kind of thefts that happened a few years ago. I had said they linked, which lead to me making the discovery of the criminals, there's a presentation of gratitude towards me or something.

Then I remembered. The girl. Was that...a dream?

I went through the night in my head, over and over again. It was amazing, we lay on the beach, her head lay on my chest all night, I finally ended up getting home at 2am. There was something I was supposed to remember...but I don't know...I never forget! It must be because I'm tired, I'll remember later.

The more I thought about it, the reality of last nights events increased until I was a positive that a beautiful girl spent her whole night with me, why, I don't know.

I supressed the thought and got up to start my day.

Lunchtime had passed and I hadn't anything to do, I grabbed my phone and quickly checked my social networks and realised I had several messages.

Yes, I do have friends. I have stated this before, it really isn't that surprising. I suppose you could say I am the Holmes of the friendship group.

I scanned through the texts, barely reading 90% of them, I had made it clear that anybody that used text talk in a message to me would be instantly removed from my phone. I was left with no contacts. Now, I just don't pay much attention to the text. From the other 10% of the messages I gathered that everybody was going out tonight, my friend Joe had managed to earn some VIP tickets for a club, but we had to meet in an hour for a reason I don't understand, because I refuse to read the other horrendously written texts.

I decided to take a mid-day nap, I'm sure my soft, warm bed is calling. Am I really going to miss an opportunity to go to one of the wildest clubs in this country, just because my friends make the awful decision of not to use the English language. Yes, yes I am.

I drifted of to sleep quite quickly, however I still felt completely aware of what was going on. I could see a beach, I wandered down it, the waves lapping at my feet. I recognised it as the village beach, a pile of skimming stones were waiting, I assume for me. I picked one up and threw it across the sea, it was brilliant, I beat my highscore by 6 hops! I heard somebody clapping and cheering so I turned around and there was the most beautiful human being I have ever seen, sat on one of the rocks on the beach, almost like a mermaid. Wait, I know this girl.

She dropped off the rock, landing on her toes. Slowly she placed one foot in front of another and walked towards me, until her forehead was placed against mine. I could feel her warm, sweet breath on my face, I closed my eyes. "See you at ten," she whispered and with that she had gone and I awoke.

I paced the floorboards, muttering the word "ten" on repeat. There were several thoughts running through my head, what happens at ten? Where am I supposed to go? Was that my girl? Was that just a dream? Had I just created it with my imagination and it held no sense of reality? No.

I just had to go down to the beach at ten o'clock and see what happens, if nothing happens at least I won't have disappointed anybody by not turning up.
