Tessa Sloane Morgans

Tess couldn't help but smile to herself as she passed the Sioux Falls welcome sign, she was finally home. Her life has had it ups and downs but lately she had felt like the complete and total freak that she was. She hoped that being home with her adoptive father would help her take a moment to breathe.

It wasn't like her line of work was a yoga class. Hunting monsters and ridding the world of evil did come with a toll, even if you had said supernatural qualities.

Tess first pulled up to the post office to collect any incoming cases from her P.O box. She cut the engine of her car off, whom she fondly referred to as Destiny, a 1968 Dodge Charger r/t painted a matte black. Tess had practically built the car from the frame up.

As she strolled out of the post office with her mail tucked beneath her arm a low whistle sounded behind her, causing the huntress to pause and turn on her heel.

"Jessie Singer. I'll be damned. It's been years." The Sheriff chuckled almost in a fond manor.

Tess shoved her hands in the pockets of her leather jacket as she nodded unsurely "Sheriff Mills. Yeah, I think the last time I saw you was at the jailhouse after you arrested my dad for a disorderly."

Sheriff Mills scoffed, aiming a smile at the sun kissed woman. "It's kinda my job to arrest people. But you Singers are nothing if not stubborn. How's your old man?"

Tess shrugged, offering a warm smile "Pretty good as far as I know. I'm actually back in town for the first time in a while to surprise him."

Sheriff Mills patted her shoulder fondly "Well I'll let ya get going kid. It was good seeing you Jessie."

Tess waved to the cop as she tossed her mail through the passenger window "You too, Sheriff . I'll see you around."

With that she loads into her car and turned the engine over, taking off down main street toward the scrap lot on the outskirts of town.

Tess smiled as she pulled her duffle over her shoulder as she gazed that old house fondly. Cramming her keys into her pocket she opened the front door, letting herself in as she had for the past twenty years.

"Dad?" Tess called into the house, joy filling her as she took in the smell of whiskey, firewood and burnt out carburetor. She set her bag down as she entered the living room to see the man who had raised her.

"Tess?"

The woman beamed as she leapt into her fathers arms "Hey Daddy."

Bobby returned the hug with a bright laugh "You're home! I thought you were in Egypt for another month?"

Tess parted with a smile the size of Texas as she explained her trip. "I found what I needed and I took care of a few poltergeist while I was at it. Had to burn a few mummies and a few billion dollars worth of history while I was at it."

Bobby chuckled, patting his daughters cheek proudly "That's my girl. Tell me all about it over some dinner."

Tess kicked her boots off and headed for the kitchen with her father "Got any whiskey?"
