"You found him?!" Tess exclaimed in relief over the phone, overjoyed to hear that Dean had found Sam safe and sound. She had gone off solo, an old friend of hers, a middle aged woman that had been close to her mother before her violent passing. She suspected that her boyfriend was a sexually active, unfaithful witch. So when Sam had gone missing she was neck deep in a case in the lovely state of Wyoming. "Steve Wendell? Yeah, I know him. But what's he got to do with you finding Sam?"

When Dean delivered the news, Tess slouched on Miss Martha Rues couch, running a hand through her wild hair. "Oh hell, Dean. He's got security cams, alarm systems, everything. Wipe your prints, destroy that hard drive and get out of there as soon as possible. I'll head your way as soon as I tie things up here. I call when I'm close. Okay, bye babe."

Tess hung up, stress coursing through her system as she looked up at Martha, who was being just a lovely hostess and bringing her a cup of coffee.

"Who was that, dear?" Martha asked as she handed her the piping hot mug of caffeine.

"My boyfriend, actually. His brother isn't well and it's causing some unwanted problems." Tess grumbled, taking a long swig of the warm beverage.

"Do these problems have anything to do with your... line of work?" Martha inquired cautiously, not wanting to push her boundaries.

"Yeah. It's caused a few problems in the past, but it just took a serious turn." Tess drummed her fingers against the mug in worry. She had only officially been Deans girlfriend for two weeks, and as great as finally being his was, she had only seen him three collective days since the night they made out in the impala. Tess would never admit it, but being away from her boys was killing her.

"Is he going to be okay? Or is it really serious?" Martha reached over the coffee table and took one of the huntresses hands in both of her own.

Tess let out a long breath, attempting to blow a stray hair out of her face. "It's not something that's going to go away any time soon. That's for damn sure. All I know is that is scares the hell out of Dean, which scares the hell out of me. I ain't lucky enough for him to be okay."

"Oh honey, you gotta have faith that he'll get well. No matter how dark it seems." Martha encouraged being a more positive soul than Tess.

"Faith doesn't usually work out well for a freak like me." Tess picked at the fabric of her frayed jeans, leaning back into the couch in defeat. "No matter what your promised, wisdom, strength, power, love, evil flips you over and screws you good and well. Then you're left to pick up the pieces."
