My last day at Elmer's High School was tough. My teachers had been so kind and generous and the students were very friendly. The worst part was leaving Lily, my best friend since second grade. We did everything together and none of it mattered anymore. I was moving across the country and going to a new school. I knew I would probably never see her again but I stayed strong, not crying every time I thought about it, not squeezing her to death during our very last hug. Even saying goodbye and then watching out the back window of our silver minivan as we drove farther and farther away from the memories we would lose. Sure we could talk on the phone and email and video chat, but that wouldn't be the same and soon we would lose touch anyway. I knew all of this. When I was sitting at the dinner table hearing news that we were moving. Saying goodbye to my school and friends. Even sitting in the backseat next to my twin brother, Victor, crying the whole way to the airport. I knew it. So yeah, my last day at Elmer's High was tough.... but my first day at Orange County High was even tougher.
