JACKSON'S POV

"Dr. Jackson Avery, you're up." Judge Constantine Boda said. I was ready to say my piece. I love April Kepner, and I don't care what it takes.

April's lawyer, Nina Durant, started asking me some questions I wasn't afraid to answer.

"What is your relationship to the defendant?" She asked.

"Exes."

"Why do you feel that she will come back to you?"

"Because she always has."

"Even given the circumstances?"

"Yes. There are such things as divorces."

"Uh-huh. What do think would've happened if she didn't choose you, what would you really do?"

"I would've given up."

"Why didn't you?"

"Something told me I just wasn't ready to let her go."

"You mean someone."

"Yes."

"Who is this person?"

"I am restricted to say."

"You cannot withhold evidence, you know that's against the law, right?"

"I know.... I.."

"Can you point that person out in this courtroom?" I didn't say anything. I didn't want to rat out Owen. He's been nothing but nice to me all along.

"Perhaps it was a colleague, one your own?" I silenced myself again. I couldn't do it. I couldn't say anything.

"Your Honor, I would like to call for a more in-depth cross examination."

"Who do you call to the stand?" the judge asked.

"Dr. Meredith Grey."
