Wait. Those eyes, That voice. That smile. It couldn't be...
It was Felix.
Ryan stopped when he finally realized who it was. 'I can't believe that we are in the same school, same hallway even.' he thought.
"Dude, you okay?" Russ questioned, finally noticing Ryan stopped.
"Uh... yeah... yeah. You remember that guy I told you about? The one I lost when I was a child?"
"Yeah, so?" Russ asked.
"That's here. He's here! We go to the same fucking school! I need to talk to him. I need to talk to him!" Ryan said, running towards him but Russ stopped him.
"Dude, that's not a good idea. You can't just go up and talk to Felix, he's the boyfriend of the strongest guy in this building! He will pound you if you try to talk to him. It's not a good idea." Russ attempted to make Ryan listen, only going no where. Ryan took off towards Felix again, only to see him getting into Ken's car. (Her part ends here, just too much in life, ya know? So from here down will be me :] )
He stopped once he saw those blue eyes lock on him. He waved a small hello, only to get a confused look in response. The driver of the car looked over with green eyes glaring at him. A warning.
He looked back and saw Russ catching up to him, out of breath. He looked back at Felix, watching the car drive away. He put his hands on his knees, exhausted from his failed attempt.
"You can't just go running up to some guy and his boyfriend. You knew him ten years ago. There's a chance he doesn't recognize you anymore." Russ said, once he found his voice.
"But I recognize him perfectly. He made me promise to never forget him, so why would he forget me? It makes no sense." Ryan said, his voice cracking. He slowly died inside, realizing he had no clue who Ryan was.
It was his Felix. His Felix from ten years ago. His Felix with the beautiful sandy blond hair and stunning blue eyes. His Felix who shared goldfish with and gave the duck key chain to.
His Felix... gone. Everything they had together... Gone. 'I have to make him remember me. I have to.' He thought.
"I want to be alone now Russ."
"But Ry-"
"Please, Russ." Ryan cut him off. "Just leave me be."
"Listen to me, Ryan!" Russ nearly shouted. Ryan whipped around, startled by Russ's outburst.
"Look man," Russ started, swinging his arms in frustration. "A couple of years ago, before Ken, I was with him. I was his toy. He's nothing special. Yeah, he looks perfect, but to me, it was all just a show. So why are you so obsessed with him? He's changed since he was seven, Ryan. Why can't you grasp that?"
Ryan stood still, staring in awe what he just heard. He ran both hands through his hair, not believing what just came out of Russ's mouth.
"Nothing special? Nothing fucking special? He was the first friend I ever had, Russ! I know him more than anybody in this goddamned state! Just because it didn't work out for you," Ryan said, bounding to his car. "Doesn't mean I don't still have a chance. Forget you." He slammed the door shut and drove out of the parking lot. He was usually a quiet kid, so this sudden outburst from him turned some heads.
'I can't believe him. Where the hell did all that come from?' He thought to himself.
He took out his notebook and wrote down everything that had happened that day. Finding Felix. Finding him with Ken. His fight with Russ. The way they spewed venom in their words to each other. It shattered him to fight like that with his only friend.
**
"So who the hell was he? He seemed to know you pretty damn well!" Ken raged.
"I told you, I have no clue! He only just moved here, so how would I know?" Felix's delicate voice yelled.
"I swear to God you better not be lying to me."
"I'm not, Ken. Just please... calm down." He took a deep breath and wrapped his arms around Felix's waist gently. "I'm sorry, Fe."
"I can't stay mad at you, Ken." he smiled up at Ken and pecked his nose.
"You know I love you, right?" he pulled Felix close.
"Of course love." Felix pulled him even closer, pressing himself against Ken.
For both Ryan and Felix, the night was left in a blur.
