Chapter 8: Dangerous Poison

Ino has been staring at the piece of paper na nakuha namin sa yate na nasa fishport kahapon, kasama ang mga pulis at ang buong RHD Club ang nag imbestiga sa yate kahapon, pero wala kaming nakitang kahit isang clue sa pagkamatay ni Tobi Alfonzo at James Morayta, ganoon din sa pagkawala ni Myrla, except for that piece of paper na hawak ni Ino ngayon.

Idinikit niya sa white board ang papel na hawak niya, ito ang unang pagkakataon nakita ko at ng iba pang club members ang nakasulat dito simula kahapon.

There's some kind of code written on a piece of paper, first there's a series of numbers: 870

Then followed by a series of images: Elephant, Venus (Planet), Electric Wire, Vest, Iron, Lace, Line, and an Entrance Logo

"Did you deciphered the code Ino?" Tanong ni Clark kay Ino na halos buong araw tinitigan ang papel na yon.

Ino breathed deep "Not yet." He replied, habang nakahawak sa baba niya "I think I need more time."

"I guess this code is our pause." Biglang sabi niya.

"Anong ibig mong sabihin? We can't pause the investigation, my friend is in danger and anytime from now maaring mapahamak na siya." Bulalas ko.

He remains expressionless facing my direction "Can you decipher the code?" Tanong niya.

I stared at the code for a few seconds but nothing comes to mind.

"For now, we will pause the investigation here, our last lead is that code over there." sabi niya as he points he's index finger to the white board "Think, plan and calm down, this is our only lead, walang ibang bagay na magtuturo satin kay Myrla bukod sa code na ito." He walks towards the swivel chair and sat down.

"Naiintindihan ko ang nararamdaman mo Karen." Said Jinri as she tapped my shoulder.

Damn! Why did we end up like this? I hate it.

Another tap on my shoulder shocked me, "Let's cheer up" it was Clark "Tara at kumaen muna tayo, my treat."

"Aba! Gusto ko yan, let's go" Jinri become lively after hearing about Clark's treat of food.

"What about you Ino?" Tanong ni Clark sa club president namin.

He waved his hand and said "I'll pass, I'm going to work on this code."

Sabi niya pause muna kami, then suddenly his working on the code? Ang gulo rin niya ha.

Well anyway, three of us headed to canteen para kumaen.

Umorder si Jinri ng isang spaghetti at lemon soda, si Clark naman ay isang cup ng rice at fried chicken with lemon juice, habang ako ay isang slice ng cake at bottled water lang.

Agad naman kaming nakahanap ng upuan at agad pumuwesto "Clark" biglang sabi ni Jinri "Matanong ko lang, may iba na ba kayong nalutas na kaso ni Ino these past few months?"

Bago pa maisubo ni Clark ang isang kutsara ng kanin napalingon ang mala tinatamad niyang mata kay Jinri "Of course! You know our reputation as a detective club, but because I lack presence, Ino take all the credits." He answered.
