"Drunk words are sober thoughts."

THE ELECTRONIC MUSIC blared loudly through the speakers, reverberating off the walls and into my eardrums. Black lights making neon colors bright, only adding to the high energy. My body clashed and squeezed between sweaty bodies as some of my classmates dry humped each other on the dance floor, hoping to have someone warm in their bed tonight.
"Ew, gross." I felt the hair on my skin stand on edge, my insides clenching as a couple rammed me into the wall during their passionate make-out session. My body was stuck between the wall and two horny teenagers, but thankfully, I managed to squeeze myself out of the horrendous situation.
Sweat trickled down my neck, my hair sticking to my skin as I miraculously made my way through the crowded dance floor and across the room into the kitchen. While half the class occupied the dance floor, their bodies grinding against each other, the other half hovered around the island turned bar, tossing back shot after shot, or shotgunning a beer.
I felt like I was the only one at this party stone cold sober, an agreement I made with Josie so she could have a night of fun and relaxation. So, with that I was deemed designated driver.

"Another water Maddie?" Lucas, everyone's favorite teen bartender asked, his teeth glowing under the blacklight.
I simply nodded, tugging on my skin tight dress before plopping myself down on a barstool. My forearms pressed against the granite countertop, droplets of melting ice touching my skin and bringing me some sensation of cool in this sauna of a party.
It was two hours into Austin's after party for homecoming and I was already ready to leave. Not like me in the slightest. Last time I left a party early wasn't because I didn't want to be here, it was for other, nightly activities.
"Here you go Maddie." he slid my third, yes third, cup of iced water across the counter.
My long fingers latched onto the red cup, the ice swishing around in the water as I brought it up to my lips and took a huge gulp. My body ached for just one shot of vodka, but I promised Josie I wouldn't even look at a glass of it.
I sighed, "I really wish this was a vodka cranberry." Lucas simply laughed and shot me a smile before turning to attend to the soccer players and handing them a round of shots.
Someone ran into me, the force causing me to almost tip over in my seat. "Oh shit, I-I'm sorry Mads." Josie giggled, stumbling as she tried to stand straight.
"It's fine Josie." I held onto her arm so she would stop from leaning left and right as she attempted to find some balance in her drunken state.
"Mad-die, this party is —" A small burp escaped her lips, throwing her into a fit of giggles. She stopped giggling like a lunatic for a second, "What was I saying?" Her brows crinkled in confusion, her train of thought lost.
I hopped off the barstool so I was eye level with Josie, because every time she arched her head to look at me she stumbled backward. I wondered if this is what she dealt with when I was the drunk one. "You —"
"Oh right!" she smacked my arm repeatedly, "This party is amazing!" she threw her hands in the air and cheered.
Everyone's heads snapped in our direction, and Josie cheered again this time getting the room to erupt into a cheering fest. I closed my eyes, pressing my hands to my temples as I felt a migraine coming on.
