Part 5: Dilon Ko Bandha Tha Humne Toh Rishton Ki Dor Se

They got down and were waiting for Kartik to brought. Akshara was now worried as they had not informed anyone about the incident that took place and Kartik being so severely injured. Naitik and Akshara decided to head back to the home and personally inform them about he incident, while the manager would come and escort Kartik to the hospital, they would meet him at the hospital once the family knew. The ambulance was arranged and Kartik was taken out of the airport, into the ambulance. The Manager waited outside and greeted them all. Naitik informed him about everything necessary and headed back to the Singhania house, accompanied by Gayu and Naira, who was determined to go with Kartik but decided the other way round. Soon, they reached the Singhania house which was decorated with flowers and mirrors. The entire family was present there and no sooner did they enter, than they were showered with love and blessings of the entire family. Everyone was so happy with Naitik's return that they forgot about Naman and Kartik for the time being. Mishti, Naksh and Bhabhi Maa were the most emotional, Naksh ran to Naitik and clung to him like a 5 year boy while Mishti showed him the lock and chain she had got for him. Bhabhi Maa's uncontrollable tears were wiped by Naitik and the entire family rejoiced at their return. Rajshekhar then realized that Naman was missing and asked about him while Rajshree asked about Kartik. They assumed that Naman and Kartik were returning in the other car probably and so they dismissed the questions themselves and entered the house without giving Naitik and Akshara a chance to explain. They were having a gala time when Naksh noticed the anxiety on Naira's face and took her to a corner.

Naksh: Naira, tujhe kya hua hai? Koi baat hui hai kya jo tu itna tensed lag rhi hai? Kahin kuch galat toh nhi hua?

Naira: Woh, Ka.... Kartik..

Naksh: Kartik, kya kiya usne? Mujhe laga hi tha ki mujhe uspar completely trust nhi karna chahiye. Mujhe toh laga tha ki woh acha ladka hai, use ek baar trust krke dekhna chahiye, par main galat tha. Tu bata usne kya kiya hai, main abhi use sabak sikhata hoon.

Naira: Nhi Bhai, usne kuch nhi kiya. Woh...Kartik...I mean Chachu...

Naksh: Bol na Naira, kya hua?

Devyani: Arey tum dono waha kya kar rahe ho, yahan aao aur ye halwa chakh kr dekho.

Devyani was feeding Naitik the halwa she made when Karishma came into the house, clapping.

Karishma: Ye aap kya kar rahi hai mom, us insaan ko halwa khila rahi hai jisne aapke bete ko jail bhijwaya?

The bowl from Devyani's hands slipped while everyone looked towards Karishma in shock. Gayu took Mishti to her room and the entire family enquired about Naman from Akshara Naitik. Karishma went on to accuse Naitik for Naman's arrest but Akshara's patience could no longer take it. She, angry at Karishma's accusations, revealed the entire scene that had happened in Zurich, how he had managed to fool them and kidnapped Naitik, how he held him hostage in the cottage and gave him electric shocks, and how to tried to get the property papers signed. However she mentioned nothing about Kartik until Naman was brought to the house by the Police. Naman apologized to the family but no one was listening. Naksh and Shaurya were too angry to forgive him and instead proceeded to beat the shit out of him but Akshara and Vishambhar stopped them. Naman tried to use his melodrama in order to gain the family's sympathy but Devyani and Karishma were adamant on sending him to jail.
Naman requested them to allow him to meet Mishti once but Devyani declared that Mishti was no one to him, her father was dead. But soon Mishti came running to him and hugged him. She asked about the Police but Akshara made an excuse and made her believe that he was assisting the Police in catching a thief. Mishti hugged Naman and ran back to her room, Gayu went behind her.

Naman: Apne nhi, mere nhi toh kam se kam meri beti ke baarein mein toh sochiye, uske liye Mom, mujhe maaf kar dijiye.

Akshara: Agar baat sirf humare saath dhoka karne ki hoti toh shayad hum tumhe iss baar bhi maaf krdetein, par tumne toh Naitik ki jaan lene ki koshish. Ye hi nhi, tumne toh Naira par bhi attack kiya aur Kartik, aaj Kartik jis halat mein hai uske zimedar bhi tum ho.

Naksh: Kartik, usne kya kiya Maa?

Akshara: Usne nhi, Naman ne. Kartik ne toh Naitik ki aur Naira ki jaan bachane ki koshish ki thi. Par Naman, usne toh use hi maarna chaha. Aaj Kartik agar apni zindagi ke liye lad rha hai toh uske zimedar sirf tum ho Naman.

A lone tear escaped Naira's eyes on the mention of Kartik. The entire family was shocked on hearing that Kartik was fighting for his life.

Rajshree: (shocked to the core) Kya hua Kartik ko?

Naitik recited the entire incident that happened, how Naman was trying to elope with a semiconscious Naitik, how Kartik saved him by breaking the glass, how Naman tried to hurt Naira and how he shot Kartik, angry at the failure.

Akshara: Agar aaj Kartik nhi hota toh Naitik aur Naira humare saath nhi hotein. Naman ne kisi bhi rishte ka lihaaz nhi rakha, aur Kartik ne toh koi rishta na hotein hue bhi apni jaan pe khel kar humare parivar ki jaan bachayi.

Rajshree: Ab kahan hai Kartik, kaisa hai woh?

Naitik: Humne use Udaipur ke hospital mein shift krvadiya hai. Kal toh uski halat bahut critical thi, par aaj subah tak woh thoda stable ho gaya tha. Par use hosh nhi aaya tha.

Devyani: Sharam aa rhi hai mujhe ye sochkar ki tmse mera kabhi koi rishta bhi tha. Tumne Kartik par goli chala di. Iski saza toh tmhe milni hi chahiye.

Karishma: Ise le jayiye officer.

Shaurya: Aise insaan ke piche apna samay barbad krne ka koi fayda nhi. Hume Kartik ke paas jana chahiye.

Vishambhar: Haan haan Shaurya beta. Jamai Sa, chaliye.

Akshara: Haan.

Naitik, Akshara, Rajshekhar, Devyani, Karishma, Naira, Shaurya, Varsha, Rajshree, Vishambhar and Naksh left for the hospital while Gayu was in the house taking care of Mishti. Akshara, Naksh, Naitik, Naira were travelling in the same car, (Naksh driving, Naitik in the front seat and the ladies at the back), and they decided not to tell anything to Mishti about Kartik till he regains consciousness as she was very close to him. Devyani, Rajshekhar, Karishma were in one car with the driver while Shaurya, Varsha, Rajshree and Vishambhar were in the other (Shaurya driving). The family reached the hospital and rushed towards the ICCU. Everyone was shocked to see Kartik wrapped in bandages. They prayed for him to get better. Shaurya and Naitik inquired about Kartik's current condition, and the doctors informed that the sedatives would wear off soon, and that though slowly, he was responding to the treatment, so he was out of danger. They breathed a sigh of relief but the doctor informed that he was very weak because of immense blood loss and so he had to be taken care of. No worries, no stress for him and he had to be kept in observation for atleast a week or two. The nurse asked them to leave from outside the ICCU and that only one person could stay. It was already 8 pm and so Shaurya asked everyone to return home, he would stay there for the night. Rajshree did not want to leave, but on Shaurya and Akshara's insistance she agreed to return. Rajshekhar, Devyani, Karishma, Akshara returned home with the driver, while Naksh and Naitik went to the police station to complete a few formalities along with the Manager who was already there at the hospital. It was Naira who drove Varsha, Rajshree and Vishambhar to the Maheshwari house.

There at the Police Station, Naitik completed the formalities that were required for the further processing of the case. The lawyer informed them that the charges of deceit and account embezzlement would result in a sentence to jail for a year or two but attempt to murder charges on Naitik and Kartik would lead to a very tough punishment to Naman, may be lifelong imprisonment. Naitik was in a dilemma and decided to talk to the family and Kartik before taking any action. While leaving, Naksh asked the Manager if he had managed to inform Kartik's family but the Manager informed them that he could not reach Kartik's family as he had not mentioned anything about them anywhere in his documents. In fact the emergency contact number and email Id given by him in Singhania Diamond's documents were his personal email and number. The Manager had contacted the University in USA from where Kartik had done his post graduation and asked for details but they denied sharing his details but he could manage to get an ICE number and email Id from them. The contact number was unreachable but he had sent a mail on the given address. The mail id seemed to be dormant as he didn't receive any reply but he had shared his and Naitik's contact details so that the person could contact them. Both Naksh and Naitik were astonished about the fact that Kartik didn't mention about his family anywhere in his documents, not even his surname (which they ultimately came to know, Goenka, all thanks to the copies of the degrees and merit certificates that he had submitted). They found something fishy about the same but then they received Akshara's call who asked them to return home soon and so they left from there, not thinking much about Kartik's family.
