Part 7: Ho Bas Tera Pyaar Ho

Kartik was amazed as to why Naira left him alone and ran away. He was pretty sure that Naira felt the same way for him, it's just that she had not realised that yet. But this reaction of hers left him completely confused and a fear developed in his mind, fear of rejection by the love of his life. He was preoccupied with these thoughts when Shaurya entered his room. He came near him and gently patted him on his shoulder, bringing him out of his thoughts.

Shaurya: Ab kaisa lag rha hai Kartik?

Kartik: Better hun. Aap yahan par, itni raat ko? Aap aaram se ghar jake rest kijiye na, main abhi thik hun.

Shaurya: Kartik, tum na. Is halat mein bhi tumhe meri padi hai. Tumhe rest ki zarurat hai. Mujhe thodi kuch hua hai.

Kartik: Shaurya uncle ab aap yahan rukenge toh khamakha aapko meri wajah se pareshaani hogi. Yahan toh aap thik se so bhi nhi payenge.

Shaurya: Kartik beta, jo tumne humari family, khaas krke Jamai Sa aur Naira, ke liye kiya hai, uska ehsaan hum kaise chukayenge. Tumhare liye worried hona, tumhari care karna ab humara farz hai, after all tum humari family ka hissa ban gaye ho.

Kartik: Aaplog se jo pyaar mila hai, uske badle mein toh ye sab kuch bhi nhi hai. Aaplog mujhe family mantein hai, ye mere liye bahut badi baat hai. Thank you.

Shaurya: Thanks toh hum sab ko tumhe kehna chahiye Kartik.

Kartik smiles, and starts recalling how both the families had given him so much love, the love that he could never get from his family, because he didn't stay with them, he had lived in a hostel since the age of 10. He recalled the memories of his own family, the Goenkas, his Grandmother, his Chachu-Chachi, his elder sister and the three younger siblings. It had been nearly two years since he had met them, the last time he went home was during the first summer holidays of his college (the college in USA from where he did his post graduation). He remembered how Dadi had started a conversation regarding him joining the family business soon and becoming a successful man like his father and how that conversation turned into a fight between his father and him when he denied doing so and how he vowed never to enter the Goenka Villa ever again before leaving them and returning to USA. He didn't even bother to inform his family that he was back to India and was staying in the same city as his family, but his father's manager had seen him once in Udaipur and informed his family after which they tried to contact him and bring him back home but he denied and made them promise him that they would not try to convince him to come back. He was only in contact with his Chachu who kept him informed about everyone. He was lost in his own thoughts which were interrupted by Shaurya.

Shaurya: Kartik, kahan kho gaye?

Kartik: Bas aise hi.

Shaurya: Acha tum Naira se mile, woh yahi thi kya? Maine use kaha tha tumhare paas rukne, lagta hai washroom gayi hogi.

Kartik: (Trying to avoid an eye contact because he was gonna lie) Haan woh yahin thi, maine use ghar bhej diya.

Shaurya: Oh, acha kiya, woh bhi thak gayi hogi. Acha tum aaram kro, main ghar mein sabko inform krke aata hun, dono gharon mein sabhi log bahut pareshaan the.

Kartik: Haan.

Kartik kept on thinking about the reason behind Naira's weird action when he proposed her and slowly fell asleep under the effect of the mild sedatives in his medicines. The frog prince once again drifted into his dream world, reliving the moments spent with Naira from the time they had met in Rishikesh and also his dreams, where Naira and Kartik were already together. Kartik even recalled the bitter-sweet moments of Switzerland, the fight at Rhein Falls, the dream dances, but when the scene of Naman pointing a gun at Naira flashed infront of him, Kartik panicked, even though it was all in his dreams, he felt it was happening in real and that caused him to hyperventilate in his sleep all over again. His temperature rose abnormally and all the monitors surrounding him started beeping loudly. The doctors and nurses rushed inside to check on him while Shaurya kept on staring from the glass window, tensed.

On the other hand, Naira, who had ran out of the hospital, was driving home in a completely confused state. His words kept on playing in her mind, "I love you Naira, I..I just love you". She could not understand what she felt for Kartik, was it just friendship or something more than that. In this perplexed state of mind, she reached Singhania Sadan. It was around 12. Taking a tissue from the tissue box kept on the dashboard, she wiped her tear stained face and feeling a little bit relaxed now, she stepped out of the car and entered the house. It was dark, almost everyone were inside their rooms but Naira could hear someone sobbing. On moving closer to the source of the sound, she found Mishti sitting on the stairs and crying. Naira went and sat beside Mishti who immediately hugged her.

Mishti: Mere BFF kaise hai Didi?

Naira: Mishtu, aise nhi rotein, Kartik thik hai abhi, infact usse hosh bhi aagaya. Tumhara BFF ekdum fit ho jayega.

Mishti: Bhagwan ji ache logon ke saath itna bura kyun kartein hai? BFF toh humesha humari help krtein hai, kitne caring hai, sabse itna pyaar kartein hai phir unko goli kisne mari?

Naira: (Stunned, as to what will she reply to her, she could not reveal Naman's name and thus tried to make up a small story) Mishtu, wahan par na kuch gunde the, jo humare saath badtameezi kar rhe the, isliye Kartik ne unhe bahut mara and gusse mein unhone usse shoot krdiya. Woh log bahut bure the, isliye unhe jail ho gayi. Aur ab toh Kartik bhi thik hai na. Toh rona band kro. Tumhe kisne bataya Kartik ke baarein mein?

Mishti: Maine Badi Dadi aur Choti Dadi ko baat krtein hue suna tha.

Naira: Acha, ab ye aansu paucho, aur chalo, so jao.

Mishti wipes her tears and walks upstairs. Naira takes Mishti to her room and both of them lie down on the bed, Mishti immediately falls asleep but Naira keeps on thinking about Kartik's proposal, and soon she falls asleep too.
