Part 8: Humko Milgayi Jo Ishq Ki Ye Chaao Hai

The doctors had managed to calm Kartik's breathing via the nasal cannula but his temperature was very high and heart beat erratic, which definitely was not a good sign. His blood samples showed that nothing was wrong with him physically that could lead to such a high temperature and so the team of doctors were quite confused as to the cause of it. They suggested that it was some kind of psychological trauma that his subconscious mind was not ready to fight back. The doctors were tensed because if Kartik's condition continued to be like this, he could go into a cardiac arrest. The sedatives in his system were mild yet strong enough to keep him asleep for the next couple of hours. A nurse went out of his room to fill in Shaurya about Kartik's condition. He was stunned to listen the same and panicked a little bit. He called Vishambhar and Naitik and informed them about this. The two of them decided to inform the rest of the family about Kartik in the morning as everyone were already asleep by that time. The doctors decided to monitor him for the next few hours before changing the medication. Kartik was asleep, and was stuck in his dream world, where the same scenario kept playing, Naira getting shot by the bullet Naman fired and falling in his arm, dead. This kept his temperature up and his heart kept beating abnormally. But atleast, his heart was beating.

Naira walked out of her room leaving a sleeping Mishti inside to find some way to calm her heart down. She was feeling very uneasy, Kartik's words were still ringing in her ears. When she reached downstairs, she found a tensed Naitik sitting on the stairs. She went and sat down beside him. Naitik looked at her and smiled but the smile did not reach his eyes. Naira immediately knew something was bothering him, maybe Naman, or Kartik, and so she tried to console him. She hugged him and said:

Naira: Papa, aap tension mat lijiye, sab thik ho jayega. Aur Kartik bhi thik ho jayega. Dekhiyega aap. Woh mera best friend hai, use toh thik hona hi padega.

Naitik: I just hope Princess ki woh jaldi thik ho jaye. Naman ke case ka decision bhi humne Kartik par chor diya hai. Lawyers ka manana hai ki use bahut kadi saza ho sakti hai agar Kartik uske against case file kare toh. Not that I support Naman, but woh mera Bhai hai.

Naira: Chachu ne jo kiya, uski saza unhe milegi Papa. Kartik jo decide karega, hum uska saath denge.

Naitik: Haan Princess. Kartik ne humesha humari help ki hai, yahan tak ki tumhare liye apni jaan jokhim mein daal di. Hum uska ye ehsaan kaise chukayenge. Usne toh jaise sabko apna bana liya hai. Maa Bauji toh usse itna jud gaye hai. Akshara bhi uske liye bahut tensed thi.

Naira: (in a low tone) Papa aapse ek question puchu? (Naitik nodded and she continued) Family mein sab humesha kehtein hai ki mumma aur aap ek dusre ko maut ke muh se khich kr wapas laye the.
