-Kaye POV-
"William, Sarah." Nash's mom smiled as she opened the front door. The greetings were so casual, hugs and smiles, taking off jackets.
I would normally rush to Nash, we'd watch a few shows before dinner but he wasnt in sight. I tried to look happy and casual but my stomach turned.
Did he guess I feel something? Was he weirded out and now avoiding me because he didn't feel the same. It was all just so awkward.
"Martins." Hayes poked his head from the kitchen. I walked over to him while my parents were carried into convo with Mrs Grier.
"Where's Nash?" I asked but stopped when I saw Nash sticking his finger in the cream his mom put over the pie.
"Your mom's gonna freak." I said with a small smile. That was one of our first memories, getting shouted at for eating all the cream off his moms pies.
Hayes snorted. "That's why he's getting so fat."
I laughed. Nash rolled his eyes. "Girls wish they could with this." Nash was actually in perfect shape - I looked away from him.
"Oh snap. I forgot to text Aaron." Hayes cursed and jogged out. "Something about this Friday."
I almost groaned because things got awkward and quiet so fast. I didn't know what to say. Nash wouldn't even look at me.
"Today's weather." I remarked and pointed to the window. The curtain was actually drawn though.
Nash nodded. "Yeah its so...crazy." He laughed awkwardly.
"So how was the test?" I asked, fiddling with my sleeves.
"Not too bad! Thanks to you mentioning English shit the whole time." Nash smiled.
I chuckled. "Told ya - "
"Kaye." Nash interrupted and looked at me with sad eyes. "What the hell are we doing? This small talk."
"I don't know." I rubbed my eyes. "I mean its - "
"Do you like Luke?" Nash asked so out of the blue. I was surprised.
"I - no I dont." I admitted. "What has that got to do with anything?"
"I wanna make sure before I do this." He walked towards me.
"Do what - " I began. Confused.
But I didn't have time to finish my line when Nash's lips met mine. My eyes widened as he pushed me against the kitchen counter.
His eyes closed.
I was so stiff. So shocked. Nash seemed so uncertain in his action too but when his hand slid around my waist, it felt so natural.
So I kissed him back. I was surprised at how I gripped his hair in my fist and pulled him closer to me. His tongue slipped around mine - making me sigh against him. His hands digging into my waist.
Nash kissed me more fiercely. It melted my insides. Nothing had ever made the feel so hot - just the brush of his fingers on my back made me shiver.
"I'll call the kids!" I could make a voice from the hallways.
Nash heard too because he yanked away from so fast that he tripped over his own feet. But he turned around and leaned on the small kitchen table. His hair messed.
I tried to appear casual when my mom walked in.
"Come you two." She smiled. "Dinner smells so good. Nash you look so wonderful, honey."
