Ban and Jericho broke off their kiss after what felt like several minutes. King and Diane walked in together with their hands embraced. They managed to catch the last glimpse of their partners kissing. Diane smiled widely and King laughed. The Fox Sin looked over at the fairy with an embarrassed red look on his face. Jericho hid her face in her hands.
"You guys doing okay?" King asked with a wink and a laugh. Ban soon regained his face color and smiled.
"Oh yeah King. Great." he said with a chuckle. He looked down at King and Diane's hands and raised his eyebrows.
"Looks like you guys are doing FINE too." he said while pointing out their embraced hands. King at first blushed in embarrassment, but all of a sudden, he felt like he had the strength of ten men. He felt better about himself in a LONG time. He looked down at he and Diane's hands and then up at Diane herself. The moonlight captured her beautiful appearance wonderfully. He wanted to paint a picture of her. He knew now in this instance that this girl would help him make peace with his past and move on with his life. He realized that as of this moment, he now had what he hadn't had in his life in a long time. Pure courage. He looked back at Ban and confidently smiled.
"Yep. I've admitted my feelings Ban. Me and Diane are going to love each other forever." he said with a determined tone in his voice which Diane couldn't help but smile about. It made her happy to see that King had finally regained his confidence in himself. It was his confidence and selflessness that made her become attracted to him in the first place.
"Well we're going back to the Boar Hat. Catch you two later I guess." King said with a wink. They left the Holy Grill and Ban and Jericho were alone once again.
"Hey Jalecko. I'm hitting the head. I'll be right back." he said. He walked away from the table, and bumped into a large bald man on his way towards the bathrooms.
"Hey what's your problem buddy?!" the man yelled. He grabbed hold of Ban's jacket. The Sin just grinned.
"Nothing. Just trying to get past you baldy." he said with a laugh. The man angrily raised his fist and attempted to drive it into Ban's face. Jericho looked at the events before her unfolding with shock. The instant felt like slow motion. She felt the urge to save him from harm. She officially knew it now. She loved him! She felt her strength increasing. She balled up her fists and calculated the situation in an instant. She ran forward towards Ban, pushing patrons out of the way as she did so. She jumped up on a nearby table and used it to boost her jump. She fiercely kicked the man in the head, knocking him unconscious. His friends stood up and came at her with hard punches. She easily blocked them and sent them flying out the windows. Behind her, another man came at her with a broken bottle. Ban saw him coming, and stepped in front of the bottle. The glass shards pierced his skin. He pulled them out one by one. His skin healed instantly, much to the shock of the man who stabbed him with it. Ban grabbed the man by the neck and threw him across the bar. Another man attacked Jericho from the front with a glass bottle. She only barely blocked it in time. She was forced to use her exposed arm to do so. She kicked the man through the wall and pulled the glass out of her arm. She groaned in pain. Ban picked her up. She tried to push him off, but he wouldn't let her.
"No don't struggle. I'm gonna carry you back to the Boar Hat. We have bandages there for this cut." he said calmly. Jericho soon passed out from her blood loss.
................
Jericho woke up in her bed with bandages across her arm. She sat up and saw Ban sitting in a chair by her bedside.
"Hey good morning barber boy." he said with a laugh. Jericho at first was mad, but realized that it was kinda his way of flirting with her. She instead smiled. She felt her arm. It was stiff.
"How long was I out?" she asked.
"Two days."
"Two DAYS?"
"Yep. We had to put you on sleeping medication so your wound could heal. If you were awake, you wouldn't have let it healed. I know you." he explained.
"But, it did give us time to make this." he said while holding up a new suit of armor. The armor was gold colored and had a beautifully polished golden helmet with exquisite details on it. The chest plate had a what looked to be a griffin on it. Jericho sat up and attempted to grab the armor, but he pulled it away from her.
"Uh uh. Not yet. You have to receive the mark first." he said. He motioned for her to follow him downstairs. She followed down to the restaurant area of the Boar Hat, where Meliodas was waiting with a hot griffin-shaped piece of metal. She sat down.
"Where do you want to be branded?" he asked her. She looked up and down her own body and decided to remove her bandages. Her arm had fully healed. She smiled.
"Here." she said while pointing at her forearm.
"I'd like to remember this altercation in the future." she explained. Meliodas shrugged and pressed the metal down on Jericho's forearm. She screamed in agony. He removed the metal, and a red griffin-shaped scar was left on her arm.
"Welcome to the Sins. From now on you'll be known as Jericho, the Griffin Sin of Strength." Meliodas said. She grabbed her new armor and placed all but the helmet on one at a time. She pounded her chest. Ban grabbed her and picked her up bridal-style. She blushed in embarrassment.
"Well let's see how strong you are... Jericho." he said with a smile. He leaned in and gave her a kiss on the lips, which she happily returned...
