we sit silently on the small green hill from our childhood, focusing on the white noise of the nature that surrouds us. a cool breeze passes by us and sends shivers down our withered spines. we watch the sunset.
the beautiful rainbows casted by the sun against our wine glasses creates a streak of blood red, lily orange, lemonade yellow, forest green, sea blue, lilac purple, and rose pink against your cheek.
several small flowers from a nearby tree fall into our laps gracefully. i pick one up, a white flower, sprouting from a yellow center, all connected by a short green stub, several baby leaves clinging on for dear life just like we are at this very moment.
i turn and place it behind your ear. you smile. your hand overlaps mine and i grasp onto yours as if it were a lifeline. your tired eyes slowly close as you put your soft, warm head against my shoulder. your respirator slows. this is the end.
we forget every ludicrous, terrible moment and watch the sun, knowing that this was the last time we would see the coruscating star set. the last time. our breathing slows in unicen. our eyes shut, and we pass silently. hand in hand, head on shoulder, lover in love.
