Brianna Hollis is finally returning to Beacon Hills after a long summer away, learning about herself and making new allies. Many thoughts running through her head as to what this year will bring.
She hopes this year will finally be normal. That her...
"Chimera's," said Sheriff while marking an X on Tracy's picture.
"Two dead chimera's," Stiles said.
"8 new ones. So that's 10 in all," I nodded.
"I'm thinking maybe 11," Sheriff said while pinning a picture of Donovan to the cork board.
I inhaled deeply and rolled my eyes. Hopefully the dread doctors already got to him, and killed him. That son of a bitch deserves it. Okay that was too far...
"Our station tech guys confirmed something for me," he turned the laptop around to show us the screen. "They said both the holding cell lock and cameras could have malfunctioned because of something electromagnetic." The screen showed Donovan in the cell one second, gone the next.
He picked up the book on the dread doctors and flipped through the pages. "You said that these guys..."
"Dread Doctors," I said while looking at the book in his hand.
"Are we really calling them that?" Sheriff squinted his eyes and cocked his head to the side.
"So they broke Donovan out?" I asked.
"It's how they got into Eichen House, isn't it?"
I stared at the picture of Donovan before walking right up to it and said, "Donovan's a chimera."
"Yeah. But is he a failure like Lucas and Tracy?" Sheriff stood beside me and stared at the picture also.
"He was a failure when he was born," I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. Sheriff looked at me and raised his eyebrows. "If he is, he's probably dead." I picked up the red marker and hovered over Donovan's picture but Sheriff grabbed my wrist gently and lowered it.
"Not until I've seen a body."
Sheriff turned around to Stiles. I turned around also and followed his gaze to Stiles who was standing far away with his back to us, and his hands folded in front of him.
Somethings wrong. I could sense it.
"You're uncharacteristically quiet," said Sheriff to Stiles.
He turned around to us and said, "Sorry, I'm uh..." He pointed to his head. "I'm just trying to think about it. Uh..." He took a few steps closer. "These are all teenagers, right? So, now shouldn't we be trying to figure out why these teenagers?"
He continued, "If the Dread Doctors, if they went through all that, burying them, killing them, breaking one of them out of jail-"
"They couldn't have been chosen at random," Sheriff said, understanding Stiles's point.
"They had to of had something in common," I nodded.
"Something that made them right for this experiment," Sheriff continued.
I turned around and looked at all three pictures on the board, "Something that made them special."

"My mom's book club usually has more wine," Lydia joked.
All of use stood around the circle table in Scott's house, staring down at the copies and the book on the Dread Doctors.
"Well, they probably didn't read books that cause violent hallucinations," Stiles pointed out.
