Chapter 39

Jason McCann

I walk out from the car completely exhausted. All I want to do is to find Emma and cuddling for the rest of the night. I walk to the front door and try to unlock the door, but the door is unlocked? I swear I locked the door before I left. "Emma?" I call loudly but hear no answer. Panic runs inside me. I run inside and heading to our room. The room doesn't look like someone had barged in, but I don't see Emma anywhere. "If you're going to try to scare me you did it well Em. Come out now." I say. No respond. The odd feeling I felt this morning comes back again.

        

I look around the room and something catches my eyes. I walk over to the window seat and see Emma's novel is laying on the seat while her iPod with the headphones still plugged is laying on the floor beside it. I pick up her white iPod and look at it. The song is still playing. That's weird, Emma never leaves her iPod playing and places it on the floor. I swear if someone kidnapped her or anything I'll murder them. 

        

I walk downstairs and call everyone. Within a minute, everyone is standing in the living room. "Have any of you see Emma since we arrived?" I ask with worry. They look at me then shake their heads. "Dammit!" I curse. "Nick, go check the whole security system, something isn't right." I demand as he nods and walks away. 

        

I run my hand to my hair and mess with it. Panic, worry, anger and guilty are running inside me. I knew I shouldn't leave her! Now someone must had kidnapped her. "What happened?" I hear someone asks beside me. I look up and see Alex. I let out a deep sigh then take a sit on the couch behind me. Alex copies my action and sits beside me. 

       

 "I think someone had kidnapped Emma," I respond. "I couldn't find her anywhere," I continue. 

        

"What?" Almost everyone yells. I guess everyone was eavesdropping just now.  

        

I let out another deep sigh and nod. "Yeah, I knew I shouldn't left her. Gosh, I'm so stupid!" I yell frustrated. 

       

 "Jason, everyone knows it's not your fault. Emma assured you to go. No one, included Emma, expected someone would kidnapped her." Alex says. I sigh and shrug. I don't even know anymore. All I can do is waiting for Nick to tell us what had happened.

        

A moment later, Nick comes back with his MacBook on his hand. Worry and anger are written down his face. Here comes the bad news.  All of us are looking at him, eying him to tell us what he just found. He walks over to the single couch, sits down and places his laptop on his lap. He gives a sign telling us to come over. We walk over to him and look at the screen. He types something on his laptop before a video shows up. 

        

The video shows us what happened outside the house. It's three random guys who were hiding behind the bushes. How did I never notice that before? After we left, those three guys walked over the main door and one of those guys tried to access to the security. Minutes later, the whole screen turns black. What the f-ck just happened? 

        

"What just happened?" Ryan asks Nick like he read my mind. 

        

Instead of reply, he types something and another videos pops out. Four videos pop out which make the screen divide into four. The first one is the living room, the second one is the entrance, the third one is the hallway on the first floor, and the last one is the hallway on the second floor. Those three guys walked though the entrance. One of those guys seems so familiar. I look closer until it hits me. Isn't that Caleb? What the f-ck was he doing here?  Then another video shows they're walking toward the stairs. A moment later, the fourth video shows they're walking toward our room. 

        

It took a moment before they walked out with Emma. What the f-ck?  I look closer and it was Caleb who's carrying Emma. Were they drugged her?! I swear I'm going to kill them! I walk away from everyone and runs to my room. I slam the door close and throw myself on the bed. I place a pillow and put it on my face. It's Emma's 'cause it really smells like her.  I feel tears start forming in my eyes. Why can't I just be happy with her without anyone keeps coming between us? Why?

All of us are currently in the living room, discussing about Emma being kidnapped. I still can't believe she's kidnapped, again. I had promised her and myself that I will protect her, but now I broke that promise. I'm probably the worst boyfriend ever.

        

"Okay," Nick starts with laptop on his lap, "I successfully found out who those three guys are. The first one is Caleb Randall, also known as Emma's ex-boyfriend. The second on is Nathaniel James, known as Nate. And the last one is Jordan Germain. Three of them work for someone's else, who I still can't track down and still currently working on. But I have some suspects that might be their leader or the one that sent them to kidnapped Emma." He explains. 

       

 "And who are them?" Adam asks. 

       

 "My first suspect is Amber. She is still alive somewhere and as we all know it, she still want revenge from Jason. And the second one is Emma's dad or possibly her mom. Without doubting, we all know they hate you for kidnapped their only daughter," he says to me. "But," he trails off. All of us look at him, asking him to continue. "I have a feeling there's someone else, someone who really really hates you Jason." 

        

"It's a high possibility that ' that someone ' is part of this gang Jason,"  Nick finishes.

Cliffhanger (;

Believe me, for the next few chapters, most of it will be cliffhanger, twist and drama, so be prepare for it. (probably until the end)
