Jason McCann
After driving for like five hours non-stop (also trying my best to hold back my tears), I finally arrive at the gang's hidden cabin that is far away from the city. No one knows about this cabin, except Alex, Nick, Adam, Ryan, Chaz and I. We usually hide here when polices were looking for us. I grab the key that's placed under the mat and unlock the door. The cabin is pretty dirty and dusty since we haven't been here for months. I shut the door behind me before place the key on the counter. I walk over to the dusty couch and plop myself on it before break down crying. I put my face on my hand and start sobbing loudly.
The thought of never see her again literally break me. I will never have another chance to see her sweet smile, her adorable laugh, her cute confuse face, the stupid face she made every time we took pictures, her red face when she's angry, and to feel her lips on me anymore. I will do anything, literally anything just to see her one more time. If only I didn't tell her to run to the van all by herself, none of this will happen. She is probably in my arms right now, safe and sound. I remember the first time I saw her. The day I knew she's the one. The day I felt in love.
-Flashback-
I was walking out from the gang's house with anger. The meeting had just dismissed and the final decision was totally against my idea. Kicking the rock in front of me as I tried to hide my identity as low as possible even though I was wearing a disguise. The thought of the decision they made pissed me off even more. I was the leader for f-ck's sake! I kicked the rock harder this time and it hit someone because I heard a yelp. Shit. I finally looked up and saw a redhead girl, who's currently holding two cups of Starbucks in her right hand, looking around to find who kicked the rock. I didn't know what had happened to me, but I felt something when I saw her. I didn't know her yet I felt like I did. When she finally turned to me, I quickly looked away so she wouldn't suspect anything, but well I was wrong.
"Hey!" The redhead girl yelled. I pretended to look around and kept walking ignoring her. I knew she's calling me. "Hey you! The guy with the purple beanie and black sunglasses! I know you're the one who kicked the rock!" The girl yelled as she walked over me and tugged my jacket, stopping me from running away.
I pretended to look confuse. "What? Who? Me? What did I do?" I ask innocently.
The redhead girl rolled her eyes and sent me a glare. "Stop acting like an idiot. You knew exactly what you did. You're the one that kicked the rock, weren't you?" She asked eying me.
"What? Pfft, you don't me yet you assume that I did something bad," I shot.
She sighed before speaking, "You know what, nevermind. It's no use talking to you about it. You're hopeless," she said then walked away. A part of me was sad that she was leaving, but the other part didn't seem to care. I wanted to pull her back but I didn't want to look like a creep. I decided to let her go and started doing research about her.
-Flashback End-
I smile a little at the thought when the first time I met her. Now I know what was that feeling inside me those time, it is love. I already loved her since the first time I saw her. I never believe love at the first sight was actually true until I experienced it by myself. Pain shot through me when I rememberd she's not here anymore. I won't be able to hug her or kiss her anymore. I squeeze my eyes for a few minutes before wipe my tears away, tying to stop it from falling harder. I miss her so much already. I don't know what will I do from now on. I just lost the most important person in my life. I feel like my whole world is over now. She promised me that she won't leave me, but it seems like she broke her promise.
-Flashback-
I was tickling her on the couch as she was laughing and pleading me to stop tickling her. We were both laughing so hard, but I guess she was laughing harder. "J-Jase, p-please stop!" She pleaded, still laughing. I laughed, shaking my head no. "P-Please? My tum-my i-is hur-hurting f-from laughing s-so hard," she exclaimed loudly.
"Fine, but you need to say 'I love you Jason McCann, and I promise I won't ever leave you'," I told her.
"I-I love you J-Jason McCann, a-and I p-promise I-I won't e-ever leave y-you!" Emma exclaimed loudly then I stopped ticking her. Her laugh slowly stopped then she pouted and hit me on the chest. "My tummy hurts now," Emma said in baby's voice. I chuckled then brought her closer to me. It's silence for a few seconds before she decided to break it. "Jason?" She called as I let out a hum. "What will you do if I am gone?"
Her sudden question made me jolted up and looked at her. "Why did you ask me that kind of question?" I ask, full of concern.
She shrugged and looked at me, "I don't know. Maybe when you told me to say that words just made me curious," she explained. "So, your answer?"
"Honestly?" I asked, she nodded. "I don't know. I think I might die, or probably committing suicide. I mean, I just lost the most important person in my life. I am nothing without you Emma, you mean the world to me," I said honestly, breaking eye contact. I felt like crying of the thought of losing her.
Emma slowly grabbed my face so that I was facing her now. She gave me a weak smile. "Listen to me Jason, no matter what happens to me, don't commit suicide or do anything stupid. I want you to continue your life without me. I don't want to be the reason to hold you back. Please Jason, promise me," she demanded, looking me into the eyes. I kept quite. "Jason, please, for me?" I slowly nodded which made her smile. "Good. I love you so much Jason. I promise I will always be by your side, no matter what happens," she promised before pulled into a kiss.
-Flashback End-
That's probably the reason I haven't killed myself yet. I promised her I won't do anything stupid or kill myself. I know she broke her promise, but it's not like she did it on purpose. It's all the trucks fault. If only the truck drove carefully that day, she will be right in my arms right now. I get out from the couch and walk toward one of the rooms in this cabin. I lie on the bed, with emptiness filling inside me. That night, I cry myself to sleep with Emma's voice 'I promise I will always be by your side' echos inside my head.
