Darrell
"Finally," I said, as I spotted her. "Your slow a-s made it."
"Oh shut up," she kissed me. "The teacher wouldn't let us out the class until everyone's projects were done. Plus my locker almost got jammed and-"
"Yeah yeah yeah," I interrupted. "Guess what?"
"Nuh uh," she walked to the car.
"Nuh uh what?"
"You cut me off," she said, getting in my face. "F-ck you."
I smiled at her playful toughness, as my arms wrapped around her petite waist. "Don't be tempting me d-mmit,"
"Oh shut it!" she laughed.
"You know you like it," I gave her one more kiss. "Now, guess what forreal?"
"Okay, what?"
"Guess!"
"Darrell,"
I huffed to myself, as I let her go. "Complicated a-s n-gga,"
"Tell me! I gotta photo-shoot to go to!"
"Okay," I responded. "You know about my rap thing right?"
"Yeah,"
"And we both know about your pursuing modeling career,"
"Uh huh,"
"Well, being in Chicago, honestly, won't help out neither one,"
"Eh, sorta,"
"Sorta?"
"I mean, there's downtown,"
"Yeah, but it's not as big as New York City or L.A,"
She gave me a look of uncertainity and responded, "What are you tryna say?"
"What I'm saying is maybe instead of living here we can, you know, move to another place?"
"What kind of another place?"
"You know, another city. Another town. Another state?"
She was quiet as her eyes widened," You mean, move from Chicago?"
"That's right. I mean, come on. Think about it."
Instead of doing just that, laughter proceeded right from her lips. "HAHAHAAA! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"
"Well...yeah,"
One eyebrow went up, with her head cocked to the side. "You're not playing with me?"
"Why would I be playing you about something that's big like this?"
"It wouldn't be the first time,"
"Come on," I held her hands. "Just think about it. You, me, and CJ. All of us in L.A doing our thing."
"L.A?"
"Yes. I have family there who can take us in,"
She stepped back and sat on the hood of the car. "Are you serious?"
I huffed. "For the last time, I'm serious! I mean, is it really that unrealistic?"
"I'm not saying it's unrealistic. It's just, L.A is on the other side of the U.S. Don't you wanna be closer to the place where we both grew up in? Where our families are at?"
"Mariah, it don't matter where we're at, life is gonna go on. Life in Chicago is just gonna be negative sh-t surrounding us. I thought you didn't want that for me?"
