Mariah - Rodney's Session

3:14 p.m - Saturday

"Okay, so the hook is gonna be did by all of us?" I asked DJ.

"H-ll yeah. Then Taz can close out the song,"

"That sounds good," I smiled.

Right now, DJ, Taz, and I are at Rodney's session completing a few more songs. We've been here for over three hours and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Today is my first off day of the week, so I decided to spend time with these two.

Hanging with these two has been fun ever since the first day I met them. They remind a lot like my Dad and Darrell. Things with him have been going well also. We hang out at the studio together whenever we can and he gets a lot of songs done every time.

"Hey, speaking of sounding good, what about Darrell?" DJ asked.

"What about him?"

"You said he's good at spitting bars. How about he gets on a song with us?"

"Nah, let's not," joined in Taz.

DJ and I gave him a look of confusement. "What?"

"I mean, me and him haven't been getting along, mane,"

"What you mean 'not getting along'? Ya'll haven't talked but only a few weeks ago," I stated.

"I know that. But, I've been getting this vibe from him whenever I come around him,"

"Like what? Ya'll are gonna fight or something?"

"Exactly,"

"Well, trust me when I say you two won't. He's a good meaning person and the only time he does fight is when he feels like he needs to."

"You sure?"

Taz," I gave a blank stare. "Don't start. He's my boyfriend."

"Boyfriend?!" they both responded.

"Yeah. I didn't tell ya'll that?"

They shook their heads.

"Oh well, he is," I started getting out my other notebook. "Now come on. Let's get this other song done."

I never really felt any tension between Darrell and Taz except when they first met. That was back when Darrell and I wasn't talking to each other. He hasn't said anything about having a problem with Taz, so I never really thought about it until now.

I'll ask him when I see him next time.

"So, do ya'll wanna get some studio time? Darrell's cousin has the hook up," I asked.

"Well, we have our own you know that," replied DJ.

"Yeah, in ya'lls bathroom,"

"Shut up," they both replied with smiles.

"Exactly. But still, Darrell's cousin name is CJ, like DJ?" I chuckled to myself. "And he has a good following in both Cali and here."

"Then how come we never heard of him?" asked Taz.

"Nah man remember," jumped in DJ. "He was the n-gga who was on the freestyle video with Mack."

"Who's Mack?" I asked.

"A cousin of ours. But yeah, he alright. Is he here?"

"Yep. He's here visiting for awhile and doing a couple of shows, like one or two. But yeah, he seems like a good producer and everything."
